I asked a question a little while ago about why God made our Earth so horrible with wars and torture and death and all the bad things that are here. People said that you can't blame those things on god as they the result of human stupidity. So basically what you people are telling me is that since God created everything, he decided to create a bunch of idiots because for whatever reason, he wanted to watch the idiots that he created fight with eachother over stupid ****? If God gave us free will, why did he decide to make humans lean toward conflict rather than peace. It's still God's fault. And what about all the people who lean towards peace who get ****** over by the people who lean towards conflict???

This question has been asked before, but I've been talking to a pro-life atheist, and now I'm finding myself with even bigger doubts on my position than before.

I'm talking about morals not about laws here.

Just want to know how many out there. You don't have to expand if you don't want to.

So my question is this, when did you decide to believe in God or for that matter when did you decide not to?

I ask because of this quote I read in the LA Times yesterday:
______________________________

Here's the problem with electing a Mormon president, as Jason Thurman sees it: "I don't believe he would be guided by God."

Thurman, 26, is tidying the annotated Bibles in the Shepherd's Fold bookstore. Over by the rack of Christian CDs, his co-worker Marty Thomas raises a similar concern.

"When it comes right down to it," says Thomas, 40, "a Mormon's strength is human. A Christian person's strength is superhuman. I want (a president) who has that extra on his side."

My question to evangelicals, Do you think Bush is:

A. Not a Christian after all.

B. Getting superhuman strength and wisdom from God and do ing a super good job.

C. Getting superhuman strength from God to be an epic colossal screw up (maybe to punish us for something).

D. other

Ok, so we are on this lovely website... I am a huge advocate of free speech, and I have nothing but love for our fellow brothers and sisters on here no matter their religion or beliefs. Our job is not just to quote random quotes from the Bible to these people we need to give the Book, Chapter and Verse to them if we are going to quote. When they ask how can I avoid Hell or why did God make Hell...Our job is to tell them. The only way to the Father is through His Son if they do not accept Jesus they will be going to Hell... I do not care what sin it is, sin is sin and He will forgive anyone...It says homosexuality is a sin, but if you repent you are forgiven, to Our Lord that is no worse than a lie...yet we tell them yep you are going to Hell because you are gay? Does anyone else feel that it is our job to tell them the truth, once they know the choice is theirs. I cannot believe people will say yep you are going to hell based on one sin or another. Sin is Sin. Jesus is the answer.

"Therefore it is clear that the sin of unbelief is greater than any sin that occurs in the perversion of morals."

He means that atheism is worse than, for example, committing a suicide bombing.

Agree or disagree? Why or why not?

I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THE MYSTERY OF THE TRINITY! ! Since Jesus is the son of God, how is Jesus completely equal to God? and then there's the holy spirit which don't have a name so how can it be a person? i know that God is Spirit so isn't the holy spirit the power of God? also Jesus said that we are to pray to The Father in heaven, as Jesus himself did example john 17, and in verse 3 Jesus says that the Father is the only true God. IS JESUS WRONG?

i'm hopeing that some one can explain all these answers!

Matt 12:46-50

46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you."

48 He replied to him, "Who is my mother , and who are my brothers?" 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother ."

Doesn't that kind of negate the dying-for-sins thing?

I mean maybe it wasn't exactly a real death huh?

Which is it, church people, you can't have it both ways. Either he died for your sins or he didn't.

If he got up and started walking around like nothing ever happened barely two days later, maybe you need to admit he died temporarily -- and maybe all you holy church people aren't exactly saved from your sins after all.

Replies from Bible scholars and other appreciated.

I hear many times at the moment that Christians should tolerate other faiths and beliefs, but what does this mean? Some say that there is truth in all religions therefore it's ok to believe in Christianity but not ok to see it as more valid than other religions. What do you think?
