What is the difference between evil and sin?

I need an answer from a biblical point of view please.......

Evil is the presence of a power in the universe in opposition to God. Sin is a personal attribute of ungodliness in the form of thought, word, and deed, derived from evil.

Evil comes from sin. God told us not to sin and from sin evil entered into the world (Genesis 3, where Adam and Eve eat the fruit). My understanding is that sin is like a door, once opened sin enters in. If you don't sin, then evil can't enter. Also see the story of Job for more information.
