how do you determine which ark they've found? Is it the boat from Sumarian mythology? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumer or perhaps China? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanhaijing Could you tell if it was from India http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matsya_Purana or Greek civilizations http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogyges.

My point is, how would it prove the HEBREW god?

Sharon, I would agree, if it had hebrew written on it, that would be pretty convincing.

Well, the first would be made of a wood that no longer exists; gopher wood I believe. It would have the dung residue of all species or if you will all species in the local area. It might also have a door that was sealed in pitch. It could also have marks in cubits. Finally, it would have graffiti like Noah was here etc...(the last was a joke)

There are many flood stories from around the world in mythology which differ in there details. How would finding an ancient boat prove the biblical version or any of the other myths for that matter.

The fact that there are so many different myths all relating to a great world wide flood does however make it seem like there was at some or points world wide flooding.

Considering the number of major climatic changes that the Earth has gone through this would have a high probability of being an actual occurrence.

The Sumerian boat or ark will do fine. Nimrod was Noah's great grandson and his wife Sumerimus and their son Tammuz knew all about the Ark of Noah. Sumerimus spawned numerous gods and goddesses of which mythology is written. Nimrod built Babel the tower that God destroyed and confounded (changed) the languages of all the people and sent them out in many different directions from there.

If we can confirm the dimensions of the Bible of how God told Noah to build the Ark that would be proof enough. Satan has hidden this Ark for a long time, but God will bring it forth in due time. We get knowledge "here a little and there a little" so we won't be overwhelmed. However, God is speeding up and increasing knowledge swiftly. Man's global warming is just God's way of thawing out proof.

Well if they found the Ark and it had all different animal bones and junk in it lol it might be a lil more convincing to others... But honestly how can we trust anything from our Gov/Media and scientists when they are human also and able to lie? I think about the only thing that's gonna convince me completely of the Hebrew God is if that God comes into my head and takes over me completely because anything short of that would leave me with some doubt. Seeing as how I have already heard voices in my head before via schizophrenia I question what is real even more then most.

Hmm, well, I can't prove its the biblical ark, but a ship has been found atop Mount Ararat, in 2002. Its pretty hush hush, and heavily guarded by the Turkish government.

Who really knows? It has scientifically been proven that there was a great flood, along with being documented in many parts of the world, including ancient Asia and the Native Americans.

But bibical? I don't know, possibly.

But, nonetheless, it is a huge boat on top of a mountain. Furthermore, its atop Mount Ararat, which is where it supposedly landed.

I believe most of the stories in the Bible are just metaphors. But I'm finding this rather hard to just write off.

Each of these would claim it, and demand preferential access to it, and claim the land and the ark itself as their own sovereign possession.

Then they'd start fighting and killing each other, each certain that God was on their side. The UN would step in to try to restore peace, and all the factions would have fun killing UN peacekeepers.

We've been there and done this before. It's what theists do.

I guess they'd have to do some study on finding out how old it is. Maybe even building techniques were different.

I guess if the name on the back of the boat is Noah's Toy, that would be a good give away.

Since the ark was made of wood I seriously doubt that anything of it is left. Of course, it would depend on where they found it and how old it is. What if it had Hebrew writing on it?

So what? It would prove the various flood myths are based on an historical event. That's pretty cool.

It landed on Mt. Arat. Wikipedia is not a good site to go to. people can go in there and change what is said. Seen that on the the news. Another thing, God didn't want us to find the Ark, because people will worship the Ark instead of God.
