I ask because of this quote I read in the LA Times yesterday:
______________________________

Here's the problem with electing a Mormon president, as Jason Thurman sees it: "I don't believe he would be guided by God."

Thurman, 26, is tidying the annotated Bibles in the Shepherd's Fold bookstore. Over by the rack of Christian CDs, his co-worker Marty Thomas raises a similar concern.

"When it comes right down to it," says Thomas, 40, "a Mormon's strength is human. A Christian person's strength is superhuman. I want (a president) who has that extra on his side."

My question to evangelicals, Do you think Bush is:

A. Not a Christian after all.

B. Getting superhuman strength and wisdom from God and do ing a super good job.

C. Getting superhuman strength from God to be an epic colossal screw up (maybe to punish us for something).

D. other

I think he said he was Christian just to get votes. You know how they were criticising him a while ago about his reading skills? Well, I wonder if he ever read his Bible, to be honest with you. If he is a Christian, he's certainly not acting like one. He's putting his globalism above God.

D. I am an evangelical and I never quite thought that he was being guided by God. I think that at times he has tried to use Godly principles but I don't think it is quite the same. to be honest I have never been able to make the connection between God and politics. The whole political arena seems so dubious I cant see how you can be very deeply involved and still be a Godly person. Maybe I'm just a cynic.

i do no longer communicate as a US evangelical. i do no longer see how any united states of america that has stood via and watched the countless slaughter of the innocents would desire to probably be blessed of God. The huge type is now 40 million and becoming daily. would God have mercy in this united states of america. It stands in judgment.

The Holy Spirit confirms in my spiritman that President Bush is Born Again. So He is a real Christian.

He seeks God on most decisions. He messes up sometimes because he is human.

President Bush is redeemed & is anointed with the Holy Spirit. Greater is He (Holy Spirit) who is in us than he who is in the world.

I prayed for a President who wasn't ashamed of Jesus. So, God gave me President Bush. I think things would be much worse if we didn't have a Christian President.

Terrorist are the ones who are getting defeated right now.

As far as Mormons go, They aren't following the Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible. They have a different Jesus and also an angel Moron I.

Kim Clement has prophecied that we are going to have a Christian President elected in 2008. If the person isn't quite Christian yet, the Lord will save him/her.

D. I believe Bush is a Christian insofar as he is sincere in his belief, but sincerety, virtue, conformity with the truth, and application of Christian principles to one's public life are four different but related matters.

I was smarter than Bush when I was 5 years old.

People will kid themselves into believing all sorts of nonsense, including that Bush is a capable man making good decisions for the benefit of his countrymen (whether God guided or otherwise).

It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad.

D. other. I never believed that Bush was guided by God. Now, after witnessing his presidency, I'm convinced that he listens to no one. He is delusional.
I would love to have a president who is guided by God. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that that is even possible.

If you believe there is a God and that he is all powerful, all knowing and omnipresent, it would be logically inconsistent to believe he is NOT guiding Bush and every other aspect of creation.
