what is the purpose for Y! Answers R&S according to christians....to win souls?

is there MORE than Fireball226's spirituality and life out there than what they are trying to foster?

is spirituality possible without religion, or can you be religious and not spiritual, and how can people of non christian origin come here and ask/answer questions in complete defiance of Fireball's bullying?

I personally feel that the only way these religeous bastards will make sense in lives is if aliens invade us and give us insight into the wonders of the universe. Even then, these guys would give us a bad name by insisting that aliens are bad for being intellectually superior.

They would also embarres us by trying to convert the aliens who are millions of years ahead of us and clearly realise how futile religeon is.

These aliens would show us recordings of how humanity evolved over time but the all knowing religeon would brand them has infedels and say they must be killled. The aliens would then easily overpower us and we athiests will look like idiots thansk to 'God'

Hopefully the aliens only exterminate religeous guys and spare us atheists. We could be the only ones to help them you know because according to 'God' these aliens are menaces, we however will accept aliens and i am only too willing to run away with them.

like 7 candles, churchs, stars, angels, trumpets, scrolls, horns, eyes, lamps, and spirits and it took God to make earth in 7 days or 4 beasts, horsemen, angels at each corner of the earth and then theres 1 throne with 12 thrones on each side... and the rest of the bible says 40 like 40 days for jesus, years for moses, days for noah, and the period from Jesus' resurrection till his ascension into heaven, spent three consecutive periods of "forty days and forty nights" on Mount Sinai, and Lent consists of the 40 days preceding Easter... theres more than meets the eye

John the Baptist ;-baptised people telling them of the coming of Jesus to baptise them with the Holy Spirit -in Mark chapter 1.

I know it works!

I am born a Jew taught to reject Jesus -now I have Him in my heart in the Holy Spirit-He is my messiah, savior and best friend.

who do you think John was speaking of that would give the Holy Spirit?

just picking your brain, Fireball 226

I came away from such teachings, and there is life after the death of that stressful environment, your family becomes divided, people shun you and your friends shrink as no end time comes and you look silly

I recommend people see that there is no second coming and just live life as it is and get out from the control of cults who keep them stressed out and afraid of a sky that never falls

1st most asked question: why do non religious people come to Y! Answers R&S and get in the way of my evangelical preaching and answer my stupid doctrine questions and ruin my chances of fishing for souls?

"Be you washed by the word of God." Jesus

"In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God." And the word became flesh and dwelt amongst us and we beheld the only begotten son of God filled with grace and glory." John 1:1&14

How to you get clean? or are you brain dirtied by saying that if I dont know -it doesnt exist. If I dont believe in the blood sacrifice of the Messiah as promised-then its not true.

"He will be rejected and lay down his life to make atonement for our sins." Isaiah 53

are you brain dirtied to believe if you dont believe in heaven or hell then they cant exist?

Daniel (12:2) "Those that die will awake to everlasting life or everlasting abhorance."

Jesus says "I am the way the truth and the life, no one cometh unto heaven but by me."

Does Jesus dirty us or wash our brain heart and soul clean?

What washesUsome say that Jesus died for nothing and they can earn heaven-can you wash your own brain, heart and soul?

Was "The God Delusion" actually a God-inspired piece of writing we can all learn from, isn't professor Dawkins really a visionary?

This means you are automatically or delusionally assuming that the men who wrote down god's supposed word were 100% honest. Now as you will be aware, culture evolves, and in Western Europe, for example, one of our main cultural norms is honesty. Yes of course not everyone is honest, but the majority of people I meet seem to be. We are known as the developed world, this goes for mindset as well, Have you every been to the Far East? Mostly their culture is patriarchal and 'saving face' is number 1, honesty often takes a backseat to this.If we look at other parts of their culture we can see patterns, prostitution for example. London 100 years ago or more was rife with prostitutes, now it has evolved. It is fair to say that parts of the Far East will one day. Attitudes will also change as they do. So 2000 years ago we cannot for one minute assume that people were as honest as today and saving face and propaganda would much more likely to have been the 'order of the day' What do you think?

Matthew 27 as predicted Jesus was rejected and Judas helped to tell where Jesus was at so they could kill him to die for our sins and raise again.

verse 5 "Judas cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself."

it appears he had remorse for his sins and couldnt even live with himself

have you prayed and let Jesus into your heart yet or do you live as a Judas as I did too-rejecting him

"He is despised and rejected and lays down his life to make atonement for our sins." Isaiah 53

Well, I am atheist... not sure how I got to this conclusion but it took me about 13 years... the only things i can belive in are things i can feel and prove and religion doesn't enter in this group for me (probably for my incapacity to immagine it or having fate)...
anyways my question is: how does religion see scientific discoveries? is it like rejection or more like " god had a guiding hand over it"? i know its a generalization to talk about "religion" but I would like to know different points of view... i'm really curious... the more i learn about sciences the more complex it gets and the more i struggle to immagine anything capable of "creating it"...

thanks

Actualy I wanted become Christian but after I saw not only Christianity don't have some thing better than Islam but some times worst so I decieded to stay Muslim. lol

A guy, claiming to be a "muslim who hates Christians" and goes by the name "." signs on today, asks 10+ questions that are all of the same abusive kind - why are Christians permitted to live, why are Christians liars, why are Christians so dumb - and atheist after atheist answers his questions, acting as if they are an actual attempt at debate. I don't care about this silly nut - what I would like to know is what these atheists who respond are thinking when they contribute to his rantings? Do you think he's worth dialoguing with? Is this your idea of intelligent debate? Is this guy a worthy representative of the anti-Christian group? If this guy is typical of your group, how sad. If he isn't, then why do you act as if what he says has merit? Are you so eager to attack Christians you'll side with a man like this, just so long as he hurls abuse at your opponents?
