People talk about 'him' as if 'he' were a friend sitting next to them. Does anyone find it a little embarrassing? If you substituted that word 'god' for any other fictional character such as 'Superman' you'd be locked up pending physichiatric reports.

goes by the name preachers wife said" Mary is the earthly mother of Jesus. Not the mother of God." I thought Christians believed in the Holy Trinity. And if so then Jesus is God, remember, They are one. I could not believe she said that. And I still bet that if I ask her husband to pray for me he would not have a problem with that.

Every religion besides Christianity teaches good works will save you. Do you think I would have a better chance of being saved If I follow another religion? I was born and raised Christian.

I see a great deal about human free will.
Can God sin?
Can God lie?
It's just that so many people grant this "free will" to the created, but not the Creator.

Sunni is a religion of Islam. Shiite is a religion of Islam. And Kurdish isn't.

Why don't they, instead, have a 1st amendment like the US has?
Then, also, the Christians wouldn't be left out.

Then, also consider Lebnon, where those in National leadership are of mixed faiths.

Just a simple question (meant to cause no offense)
Being non religious i was just wondering what attracts people to a religion and how they keep their faith.
Also just wondering what is the difference between catholicism and christianity, to me it seems they follow the same basic beliefs

Has anyone heard of "The Secret"? It was on an episode of Oprah and it talks about the Law of Attraction. Did you hear of it? Do you agree with it? Has it changed the way you think?

why is it that Jehovah's Witnesses cannot date outside of their religion? If we are not supposed to judge, that sure sounds like judgement to me. why cant Jehovah's Witnesses have friends outside of their religion? it seems like if JW's are soooooooo intent on getting the TRUTH out, that they should embrace all non-believers and show them the way and not judge and shun away.

my sister is 18 yrs. and she is a JW because she was raised that way because my dad and step-mom are devout JW's and they DO NOT want my sister hanging out with non- JW's or having a non-JW boyfriend. as you can imagine, that is very difficult for her. my sister is a great kid. she doesnt get into trouble and she just graduated high school and she was honored in the newspaper for getting a nursing scholarship. her only stress is the fact that she is in love with her boyfriend of 4 yrs. (she has been sneaking), and now that my parents know, they are telling her she has to get out of their house or give him up

What happen to you (no one personally pointed out)? Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? So many people seem angry on here today criticizing and everything else... we all have different beliefs and to be honest none of us can prove our cases 100% fact in the eye of Man. As a Christian i see dumbfounded questions on here too, but if you don't know the answer don't try to bring the person down, but just research and try to find the answer out for yourself. God wants us to Love and respect everyone. Yes as Christians we are humans too, but if you get upset clear your head a few minutes and be that light to the world that God wants you to be =)

Remember: There is not enough darkness in all the world to put out the light of even one small candle

God Bless

Someone raised a point about the platypus for Creationists to explain. Some very excellent points were given by Christians, however evolutionists failed to make their points. So if evolution is for promoting a species into greater survival capabilities due to to their current surroundings not being able to sustain life for them.

Explain the archer fish? Who can shoot a bug out of the air with a water stream. There is by far, enough food, to sustain them in their current habitat.

What would the purpose of the platypus be to be evolutionized?

My dad and his wife call themselves Christians but they are always putting people down and are very rude people. I told them if you are really a Christain, you would be nice to others and treat them with respect.

Seems to be a contradiction here. This person is saying, on the one hand:

"Even reading and explaining the Gospel to an unsaved person will do no good. God teaches us in Matthew 13:13:

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

God tells us that He does not intend to save everyone in the world"

... and on the other hand:

"I am not sure if you are saved, only God knows that. Perhaps one day in your life He will draw you to Him. All we can do as Christians is spread the Gospel to you. The rest is up to God. God is Merciful, cry out to him. "

Well if we're already condemned whatever we do, what's the point of praying? And if we're already 'saved', then likewise. And why say to spread the Gospel, and that it will do no good, in the same breath?

Can anyone please explain this apparent self-contradiction?

and that the hail mary is a prayer quoted from the bible? You can find it in Luke. If I ask most people or other minister from other churches to pray for me, isn't it funny they have no problem with that. So why do they have a problem with me asking the Mary, mother of God to pray for me.

We've fallen on some hard times recently... My father died, I was in a car accident, and before my dad died my mom and him got divorced... so we are living on just my mom's income and still trying to pay all of my medical bills. We got a letter from our parish saying that since we havenot been giving any money in our collection envelopes that we would no longer be considered parishoners... therefore I no longer cannot assist with the retreat team, bingo, and we cannot go to the parish picnic. Is it just me or is this absolutely absurd? I know that the Catholic church is money hungry but this seems a bit far...

Nothing has been more successful than the idea of denominations to separate the body of christ into bickering factions.

I denounce all things methodist, baptist, pentecostal, catholic, orthodox, mormon, jehova witness, adventist, assembly, etc. in the name of simply being a disciple of Jesus the Messiah.

Am I off my rocker or what?
