Religion is the chief foundation of Love and Unity and the cause of Oneness. If a religion become the cause of hatred and disharmony, it would be better that it should not exist. To be without such a religion is better than to be with it.
True religion is the source of love and agreement amongst men, the cause of the development of praiseworthy qualities; but the people are holding to the counterfeit and imitation, negligent of the reality which unifies; so they are bereft and deprived of the radiance of religion.
True religion is the foundation of spiritual union, the union of thought, the union of susceptibilities, the unity of customs and the ideal chain binding together all the children of men.

Religion is suppose to be an outlet to let you express your beliefs and worship your creator. However, I believe a lot of Religion has become too political. One of my quotes is.."One of the greatest obstacles to Christianity is organized religion.." Not always true, but more often than not. That is why we have so much discord in the World of Faiths, too much emphasis on religion and not enough on Christianity. Thanks for the question. Have a wonderful day.

The word religion to me by itself is a misnomer. One God,many religions? The best answer to this is found in James 1:27. Pay attention to the, unstained from the world, part.

I'm a born again Christian. I don't know much about "religion". Religion, to me, is people putting God in a box and mentally making God fit what one wants Him to be instead of surrendering to the real God of the Bible.

Ritualistic practices in the name of God or some higher being believed to be a God.
Faith is much different than that of religion. Faith comes from the heart and soul and is not ritualistic.

Religion - belief in, acceptance of God or gods, with the emotion and morality connected therewith: rites or worship; any system of such belief or worship. (Websters dictionary).
As you can see Religion is not limited to Christianity.
Religion in and of itself is nothing to be proud of. To be a Christ follower is coveted. You have to stand alone in your convictions for Christ before you can be part of something much larger.

Religion is nonsense originating out of people's need to have an explanation for existence, even if it's the wrong one.

Religion is differnt to differnt people. For some it is a way of life - something they live and die for. For other people it is a set of beliefs and teachings. For others it is more spiritual and it is something that offers comfort and guidiance.
