Polygamy to most 'western', and particularly American eyes, seems reletively repugnent, especially the way Warren Jeffs cult practices it. It damages their social structure by abandoning young men, subjecting very young women to sex, and inbreeding. - But it's a localized environment, and not likely to catch on anywhere.

Radical Islam, by contrast, wants your head cut off - and your family's, your friends, and the entire western world. That seems to me like considerably more societal damage than a few thousand individuals with one common ancestor.

Both are bad and both enslave, but Radical Islamism(which also encourages polygamy-) is much worse for the whole world-if the world as we know it even survives without nuclear war, etc, started by Jihadists.
MFP should not be confused with "regular"LDS Mormonism and there are many non-radical forms of Islam that don't want to impose Sharia on everybody or hate or advocate the oppression of non Muslims or dissident Muslims.

which does more damage to society?? well i would have to say Radical Islamism. mainly because Mormon Fundametal Polygamists are killing themselves and others "in the name of Allah". Polygamy is wrong especially when it involves teenage brides, but murdering people and subjecting women to barbaric and sexist laws is much worse.

I think the question is pretty self explanatory. While Mormon fundamentlism is bizarre, they aren't strapping bombs to their kids and blowing up innocent people and property. Radical Islam is the most dangerous religious and cultural force since Nazism.
