I am the light/the truth etc:
-Jesus was not talking about himself. He was talking about the principal of "I am" which is the mystic's consception of God.
He had no personal sense, he was all God or universal sense. "I am"= God is.
The Kingdom:
Jesus was not talking about a heaven after death. He was talking about a current state of mystical awareness. The kingdom is all around you. The kingdom is within. He was saying God is an ever present reality ready to be participated in by anybody, not that he was the representative of some far off after-death realm.
Heaven/hell-
Jesus' reference to hell was a reference to a geographical location where garbage was burned. He was making reference to being lost in material form not a post death punishment realm.

All this is born out by the tradition of the mystery schools which the essenes were immersed in. Christianity is nothing more than two thousand years of distortion of the teachings of a man who never wrote a word nor founded a church.

Personally, I get tired of arguing why I believe in God and
if they don't want to believe, that's up to them. I believe in
God and that there will be a Judgement Day. If you're not
ready, well, that's the way it goes. That may sound terrible
but sitting around arguing is terrible also and sure doesn't
seem to get anywhere.

God meets you and tells you, that you have to come back to earth again, and learn the lessen of humility. He shows you the life you will live, except for the end of this life. You will have to come back and be a paedophile. Can you do his will, or go to hell?

I'm talking about the ones who have passed on. I often think about my Great-Grandmother, or a sweet girl I once knew that accidentally overdosed on sleeping pills, another girl I went to school with when I was little who had MS, I wonder what they are doing in their next life, what it is like. Does anybody else ever wonder about that kind of thing, what do you think they are doing?

I have faith, I really do. But now I've made a major decision that I feel He wanted me to make, now I'm having doubts. I know you can't have faith and worry in the same sentence, but what do you do?
Thank you for taking the time to answer me:-)

I just answered a question here:

http://sg.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070609135718AAFE2Ap&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFMiTVRUr.P06NrcBcgPygh15Ux06RTlHu9aw--&paid=answered#OLNTBlC6KTiPpH9NAX_W

and read some of the responses, by some "Christians". I have tried really hard not to call people names on here, or feel as though they are uneducated. But the responses by "I love god" and "fireball226" and others simply appalls me!! If you so much as opened an american history book you would know this is true.

Does anyone else see this??

BTW, there were some GREAT answers by most of you in there. Thanks.

Sometimes when I am praying I catch my self asking Jesus to tell my mother who passed away that I love her and miss her. I don't even know if it's something that the Bible saids can or cannot happen. I know that Jesus intercedes prayers and takes them directly to God but what about to deceased loved ones?

Being an athiest is kind of like....
getting a check for a million dollars and not feeling like going to the bank to cash it.

Jesus gave you the gift of forgiveness, so you could have eternal life and all the riches in heaven.
And the athiest says "Thats ok, you can keep it"

History says that we came here to escape being torchered and killed for what we believe in. But in the same instance we forced the Indians to become christain. To me that's like slapping a child and telling them it's not nice to hit. The same thing happened to the so called 'witches'. Can a whole country be so lost in it's own lies that every person living in it can't see the truth?

All religions teach us to respect people following any faith whatsoever. Then why do some fanatics say and insist that only their religion and their master or savior is THE ULTIMATE and the only right one on the earth?

With due respect to all, don't you think that it's their insecurity about their own religion and their inner feeling that their religion is NOT THE BEST & Ultimate?
