Does God care what my career is, as long as it benifits others? I am considering things that are not morally questionable, but am looking at things like computer science or music composition/teacher... will God have wanted me to do something else with my life?

with all the advancements in science, including evolution, etc etc, why do people still follow christianity? I don't understand.

Some people still actually believe the earth is only 6000 years old, when science has proven the earth to be millions/billions of years old. Why is this? Stupidity?

I mean everyone. Mostly Christians and atheists though. I'm not crazy about the high level of thick-headedness that exists among certain people. Why can't everyone just live together as humans, and just believe what we believe in, and keep it to ourselves??? ... None of us know what happens when we die, or exactly where we came from, and since we don't know, why can't we just leave it alone and focus on living life???

Someone who is inclined to outward thinking that is manifested through all visual and sensory means. These people have a keen mind for science, the arts and all forms of human edification. Also atheists are people who refuse to believe that their life is a culmination of spiritual manifestations due to some over stimulation of the ego at some point in their lives.

If Ken Ham is "witnessing" for his god, then why does he charge admission to his Creation Museum? Shouldn't the Good News be free?

It is a very honorable thing NOT to hide being a Christian. After all, you are a follower of the Creator of the whole universe, and have accepted His wondrous gift of eternal life with Him.

But what does it mean when a person claims to be a "conservative Christian?"

The term, "conservative Christian" is an oxymoron now, and it has been ever since the word "conservative" became associated with such hateful and mindless agendas as the ones that seek to force millions of girls and women to gestate-to-term against their will, and that seek to discriminate against gays, and deprive them of equal rights. Jesus was/is all about love and compassion. For a person to knowingly claim to be a "conservative Christian" is literally an open admission that he/she is nothing but a pseudo-Christian RRR cultist.

There is NOTHING Christian about being a bigot that persues loathsome agendas against the individual liberties of millions of people. Real Christians should avoid any such association.

I personally don't believe that any human is capable of being pure evil. Even people like Osama and Hitler probably had a good side to them...at least to the people they like and loved... and even a serial killer like Jeffrey Dauhmer is not pure evil but psychotic.

I think I am familiar with everything but paganism (did I just make that word up LOL). I know what I assume and what I have heard from Christian extremists but I'm really curious. Personally, I'm atheist.

Honestly. I don't believe anyone here can state that a tangible "god" has called to them or spoken to them. No allegory or metaphors here, please...if God has spoken to you or called to you, would you not be classified as schizophrenic? I'm completely serious about this, it is either your conscience that is calling to you (which is based on sets of values learned through life experience) or you're crazy - if you've spoken with God. Be sensible, please.

Ps. I have no idea if "stick to your guns" is a real saying or not... I might of just made it up, and it doesnt even make sense to me. Hahah.

why is it that you believe in a savior that came 2k years ago??

wasnt that back when if you had a sexual disease they would cathaterize your p**is with a hot poker?? or if you got pneumonia they would stick leeches on you?? no wait that was only 200 years ago.
SO if they were doing that 200 years ago, how much more ignorant would they have been 2k years ago?

when someone comes to us now saying that they are the "son of god" we look for any reason to lock them up. but why is it so easy to believe that the "son of god" came 2k years ago?? is it because that someone did come? but that it wasnt a messiah it was just another charletonne.

i have heard so many presumptions, like how the bible was the first moral code. yet people had been building civilizations with moral codes long before the ten commandments.

so why is Your religion true?

so many of your traditions are taken from other Older religions.

So why is Your religion true?

"Nobody gets argued all the way into becoming a believer on the sheer basis of logic and reason. That requires a leap of faith. And that leap of faith seemed very scary to me. After I had struggled with this for a couple of years, I was hiking in the Cascade Mountains on a beautiful fall afternoon. I turned the corner and saw in front of me this frozen waterfall, a couple of hundred feet high. Actually, a waterfall that had three parts to it -- also the symbolic three in one. At that moment, I felt my resistance leave me. And it was a great sense of relief. The next morning, in the dewy grass in the shadow of the Cascades, I fell on my knees and accepted this truth -- that God is God, that Christ is his son and that I am giving my life to that belief."

Okay just being funny..
But I really feel bad for the Atheists that they think there is no reason for there exsistence, and that there soul has no place in the afterlife.

All your science theories not one has dis-counted the Master Planner GOD creator of all life, do yourslef a favor expand your mind to what is out there a GOD who wants to give you eternal life..God created wonderful things and he wants to use your mind more than a thought that life ends with you as worm food..
Now what do you think?

Where do you think evil comes from?

2007-06-07 11:55:55 · 16 answers · asked by Anonymous

and if that is the case why do the religious say that they know for sure god exist? i know some will say it takes faith, and i agree it does. but still why do people preach about god and what he has done as far as creating the world and saving man and all that as truth. also for the creationist who think evolution isnt proven 100% your right but evolution has thousands of different books on the matter with thousands of researchers studying it and creationist only have their one book with no other way to back up their evidence. so i would say evolution has more evidence for its case than creation does for it's case.
