We're back to flipping the coin. You say no, we say yes. I was just checking for any actual proof. Thanks to all who contributed.

J.P. If you'd like to provide a link or something to back up your claim that free will does not exist, it would be good to see. Otherwise its pretty evident to nearly every person in the world that it does exist.

Let me put it this way: I've both known and known of people who are regular churchgoers who have the morals of a gnat, mean spirited, nasty, obnoxious, and hateful.. and I've known many people who are not the least bit religious who are wonderful, happy, and fufilled people. And Vice Versa.

I don't think it matters one iota whether or not one is religous. There are all kinds of people in every group.

Besides, morality is subjective. What may be moral to one may not be to another, and no one has the right to judge others. My definition of moral is a good decent person who is kind and giving to others and who does not try to take away the rights of others.

I firmly believe religion does not play a role in how decent a person turns out.

I am a 29 year old female, physically attractive and intelligent with a lot of common sense. I work hard because if I were to pay someone as well as i am being paid, i would want them to work hard for me, and i also get satisafction from having accomplished a lot as a part of a team. I take care of myself first, eat healthy, save my money, exercise, and masturbate quite regularly. I am also a good daughter to my widowed mother, a good friend to others, a respectful employee. I am a good lover to both women and men and i enjoy both gentle and wild but safe sex without guilt or reservation, and i am multi-orgasmic. I feel no guilt about anything I do. I do not cheat, lie, steal, injure or kill because I would not want these things done to me. I feel my own pain and do not try to cast it off or make myself feel better by using drugs or alcohol, ritual or belief in some higher power. Someone just told me that I need to go to church. Please, tellme why.

What has been found has profound implications regarding Darwinian evolution, the theory taught in schools all over the world that all living beings have evolved by natural processes through mutation and natural selection.

Everyone speaks of "the Sabbath Day", but no one says exactly what day of the week it really is. The bible, to my knowledge, does not specify the weekly name of the Seventh (7th) day. On what day does day 1 begin (Monday or Sunday)? My first day is Monday, beginning of the work week. However I am not sure if this were made up by man or decreed by GOD. Does anyone know the answer to this without being biased toward Saturday or Sunday. I know all of those arguments. I need the truth, so I will set my Sabbath on the correct day. Food for thought: if GOD rested on the Sabbath, why does man feel the need to go thru rituals i.e. dressing up for church, driving his car, or preparing other things that appear to be work. My thoughts are that we put away our own desires and worship HIM by peaceful study and reflection of HIS word. Which does not entail rushing the kids, getting stressed by time constraints and driving a car. This rush to "fellowship" should be for
other days 4 HIM.

Dear reader,

Do "atheist" not believe in any deity at all?
I gather most do not believe in God or a superior being.
Do you also not believe in the opposite....evil, devil.
Do you feel that other beliefs are as ridiculous sounding as "bible believers". Like wiccans, or people who practice
witch craft and believe strongly in it?

Thanks guys for your responses and your being decent about it, I appreciate that.

to them? Do you judge the person's appearance before you give? For example, if someone looks too healthy and clean, I am not inclined to give, but if they look weathered, crippled, and old I just feel led to give.

Pretty much anyone that wanted to be a Christian would merely have to show up to church on Sunday, and they would likely be welcomed with open arms. The same goes for most other religions, but not Scientology.

It is my understanding that one must be invited by a current member, and that the "recruit" (for lack of a better term) must pass a rigorous screening process before it is decided whether they are worthy or not of joining.

This topic came up recently on a radio show I listen to sometimes, and the one Scientologist who phoned in to discuss it spoke as if he was looking over his shoulder the entire time he was discussing it. The next day, the show's hosts also said that the local Scientology church called them, and essentially threatened them if they spoke about it again.

I would be especially interested in hearing from current or former members of Scientology. I am genuinely interested in learning why everything seems to be such a 'closed door' with your beliefs.

I know we will have problems with kids and stuff along the way if I don't but i am willing to try. I don't want to convert, but at the same time I am not a hardcore Hindu. Still I don't want to convert. Help please.

This is from the sexy R&S regual Jan, who decided to put the fun into fundie.....

"That would suit me just fine; the lepars
were separated for the health and well-being of the people. Since filth and disease
are a reality for the homosexual, yes, of course they would do well to live in exclusion to those of us who value a clean healthy and moral life for ourselves and for our children. Indeed, that would also serve
as a protective measure for our children.
Unless, of course, if child rape is now going to be the next question as to whether it
is proper or not? God only knows what the next disgusting thing is on the gay agenda.
It makes me want to vomit to think of it."

Amazing amount of love in that cutie.

What about the 42% of Christians that feel they are Christian first? Or the whopping 62% of white evangelical Protestants?

I get the feeling that when people first see the question, they say it's a problem with Muslims, but what's their impression of the rest of the population?

Do you think the polarization of the population along any lines is an issue?

Do you think of yourself as an American first?

This information came along with the poll that said some Muslim youth could sypathize with suicide bombers.

This guy has been doing alot of interviews, and I really like his style. Anyone else watching how often atheists are now being invited to speak in national forums?

What are your thoughts?

Has anyone read this book yet?

It's not, but I just want to see if anyone actually has the balls to say that it is.

Some people obviously feel this way, since you don't see many states passing laws allowing for it.

You say you don't believe in "once saved, always saved". But, if Christ makes you into a new creature (by being born again into His Spirit), how can you lose your salvation and become your old self again (the former flesh that has "passed away")?

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
