Recently, I've been thinking of going into nursing (and hopefully medicine afterwards) so that I can be an overseas missionary. Nonetheless, I'm not entirely sure if this is God's calling.

It seems like everytime I'm close to God, I am certain that this is God's will. However, whenever I'm not close to God, I feel myself drifting toward other career possibilities, and nursing doesn't become appealing at all.

I've given this a lot of prayer, and am waiting for God's answer. Do any fellow christians out there have any suggestions?

I've heard that cults are negative things that brainwash it's followers, but couldn't that be true about a religion as well?

Check this poor guy out just hanging on in there. Truly shocking the lengths these people will go to to protect their strange deluded belief systems. I actually feel sorry for the guy.

There must be far more atheists in jail than believers? With atheists having no morals at all and no dusty book. I would hazard a guess as 95% non belivers 5% belivers. Anyone help me on this one?

i'm agnostic but defently not religious as i see most religions as destroying humans instead of helping them....so many wars have been done in the name of religion....so much death! how can any one be right?

A question I posted about 15 minutes ago was an arguement from a popular source/critic at the moment.

I thought I'd post the link to the youtube video, and see if anyone could offer an insight to these 10 questions that are asked of christians:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDHJ4ztnldQ

If you're busy, I understand. The video's 10 minutes long, and I know most people won't have the time to watch it. But if you consider yourself an intellectual christian, it would be fascinating to hear the other side to this arguement.

I'll come back in 10 minutes to see who's watched it. lol

So far since I've been on Y!A's R&S,a belief that most atheist seem to believe along with some others,is that people should be able to believe&practice whatever they want&its nobody elses business what a person believes or doesnt believe.

If such is true:
That means it's OK for radical muslims to believe that killing themselves&Innocent people will get them more virgins than thy can handle.
That also means if someone has a belief that to please God they must murder people&chop their bodies into tenytiny little pies;that's ok,cuase it's their belief.
And if a person believes that having sex with little children pleases God;then it's ok,cuase it's nobody's bussiness what they believe;right?
Yes I know those examples are extreme, but if the belief is people can believe whatever they want&practice whatever;then it leaves open the possibility for such extreme&overly extreme possibilities.Maybe society is being overly tolerant¬ scrutinizing beliefs about God enough?

"Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger."
—Jeremiah 7:17–18
"... to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem ..."
—Jeremiah 44:17

Any book(s) you just don't think ought to be in the Bible for some reason? Hypothetically, if it were up to you?

For me it would be Ezra-Nehemiah. I think the narratives are important, but the spiritual lessons are HORRIBLE...

"When you attack Christians, you reveal your own subconscious need to be in a right relationship with Christ.
Get with it! "

Does that mean whenever Christians attack Satan by calling him The Father of All Lies they are actually displaying their desire to serve him? How about when they attack Hitler, are they really idolizing him?

I knew it.
