That's not really true but it's a cool acronym. I'm a Christian, so I do believe that it's our basic instructions before leaving earth, but that's not the meaning for the word, "Bible." The name comes from the Greek "biblos" which means "book."

Does it stand for that in Spanish, French, German, Italian and the myriad other languages into which it has been translated, or is it only the English-language version to which this acronym can be applied?

If only English, can it be said to be a universal idea?

That is a clever acronym, but not the real deal.

Comes from "biblios" which means, "book".

I like the acronym, though.

gee, does that acronym work in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic, too?

in other words, WRONG.

have you never heard of a bibliography? a bibliophile?

edit: pssst, Lexi, your ignorance is showing, you may want to cover that up.

No, dumbass.

The word "bible" is etymologically derived from the Greek word "biblios" meaning a papyrus or scroll.

This is a better acronym:

Barbaric
Idiotic
Bitchy
Loathsome
Empty
