I was raised in a home environment that believed in god, the holiness of christ, and the holy trinity. I NEVER accepted the story creationism. My non belief was openly verbalized in the classes of religious instruction I had to attend as a child, and my resistance to accepting the dogma of these teachings really frustrated my parents.
I have never believed in the accuracy of the information in the bible, I never accepted the concept of sin, heaven, hell, or a god who created "heaven and earth" in six days, and then designated the seventh day as a day of rest for "all his children", and I most certainly did not accept the teaching from the bible that gave males power over females. I have no opinion regarding the question if atheists are born as atheists or not. I am an atheist, and am perfectly content with my religion.

I don't know what percent. I know there's some folks on here that have always been atheists, never had a religion.

Not the case with me, I may have been born an atheist but I was indoctrinated into religion. I'm back to being an atheist now.

Not sure. I'm a such atheist - I've never been a theist.

We're all born atheists - some stay as such. Many become theists and some go BACK to being atheists.

I've always been an atheist.
All are born an atheist until indoctrination starts.

I grew up without knowing much about religion. My parents didn't talk about it (atheists), but when I got to about age 10 and my school used to make us do bible studies (not in the US), I started to think, wow, this f-ing ridiculous.

I really couldn't tell you. I'd be interested in seeing those stats too, but I dunno where to find 'em.

I can tell you that I started out religious. Brought up in a Catholic home, I was about half-way through confirmation when I realized gods don't exist.

I was religious as a kid, then started paying attention in class.

Well - as *you and everyone* - I was BORN ATHEIST; and I've ALWAYS remained one; i.e. NO INDOCTRINATION. ... I don't know a source for your question, generally.
