I'm serious about this...

I'm not a christian and what not but.. I seem to talk to god a lot when I'm high.... I feel as close to him as I can be.

I'm really wondering what this is all about? Trust me, it's not some drug induced psychosis either.. I'm talking about some pot..

I just find it weird.. and kinda freaky..

Any opinions?

It was never one person who invented the wheel or electricity. Those people were just applying what they learned from other people. It was a collective conscious. Moreover, why the emphasis on creation? We never truly create...We just react to our environment. Humans are super smart but what we do isn't any different from a monkey climbing a tree to escape a predator. The monkey's using his brain to climb the trees but he's not inventing the act of climbing.

Why or why not?

2007-05-09 15:39:44 · 23 answers · asked by The Answering Peanut Butter 3

it is a verse from the Quran
2:286

On no soul doth Allah Place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray:) "Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith."

Then why did he give us a book with the "truth"? He wants the smart inquisitive scientists to go to Hell?

We can either choose to be with God by our actions or choose to distance ourselves. Maybe hell is just not being with God.

im not being sacreligeous or anything, but through all the rewriting, and translation, there have bound to be things added, as well as taken away. So is it possible that some "sins" are the will of man and not of God?

(or any belief in a higher power than themselves)
are wrong? Is it a feeling of inferiority--given the fact they believe they are 'decendents' of pond scum, while those who believe know they were created in the image of perfection?

It doesn't bother me that they believe what they choose to. Why are my beliefs so threatening to them?

Except for the following arguments:

• Evolution has never been observed.
• All species were created at the same time.
• The Earth's age is 6 to 10 thousand years old.
• There are no transitional fossils.
• The theory of evolution says that life originated and evolves by random chance.
• The second law of thermodynamics refutes evolution.
• Evolution is only a theory; it hasn't been proven.
• An organ as complex as the human eye could only have been created by "intelligent design," not by the random process of natural selection.
...

What else is it about? Something that would benefit the human life, maybe?

Are people that worried about it really?
I mean when it happens it happens. Isnt it a waste of quality time of life if spent worrying about it?

Never any national coverage. But you certainly hear a lot about priests. Of course 90% are unsupported allegations, and in any event the media had to go back thirty years to dredge up enough cases to artificially generate an "issue". Gosh - isn't that just a big ole anti-semitic slur that jews own the media? You know - I wonder if they're trying to make the Church look bad? Hmmm. And then this media black-out on pedophile rabbis. I'm glad there's at least one jewish organization that's keeps track of them or you wouldn't even know about them. My my my what a strange state of affairs.
Somehow I'm just not in a humorous mood tonight.

"The story, taking it as it is told, is blasphemously obscene. It gives an account of a young woman engaged to be married, and while under this engagement, she is, to speak plain language, debauched by a ghost, under the impious pretence, (Luke i. 35,) that "the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee." Notwithstanding which, Joseph afterwards marries her, cohabits with her as his wife, and in his turn rivals the ghost. This is putting the story into intelligible language, and when told in this manner, there is not a priest but must be ashamed to own it. [Mary, the supposed virgin, mother of Jesus, had several other children, sons and daughters."

On Monday, Sharpton said in a debate that "as for the one Mormon running for office, those who really believe in God will defeat him anyways, so don't worry about that; that's a temporary situation."
