"Religions" is such a broad term that is so misused these days. There are too many religions with differing theologies to lump them into one basket.
Take for instance: Did the Baptists or the Methodists or the Adventists fight in the crusades? No! The Catholic Church sent armies to fight there but the aforementioned faiths did not. Nor did the Buddhists or the Hindus.
So when you say, "religions have a lot to answer for"
who exactly are you speaking of?
And what are the particular incidents that they are answerable for?
And who are they answerable to?
And by what authority do you make your judgment?
One religious dude said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".

You were raised in the wrong country, Scapegoat:
You should have been raised a forced atheist in Communist Russia or China. They have come out of great darkness to greater light than they had before Lennon's failed experiment.
Read a few verses after John 3:16 and it will tell you why you abandoned God--your works were wrong because your heart was in the wrong place.
After you wallow in the world's vomit a while you may realize God has something better, and you might try to break the hidden Bible code at www.revelado.org/revealed.htm It proves, among other things, that Jesus is Lord and Savior.
Blessings, One-Way

Believe it or not, some are worse than those posting here. But I will stick up for this bunch and say they are in worse shape than your average religious casualty.

People across time have much to answer for. To have no belief in the truth of God's existance, and what he has done for you...be prepared to answer for everything that you have done. If you can accept Jesus Christ, then he will clothe you with His robes of righteousness...He will represent you on Judgment Day as spotless and pure. I look forward to that time when there will be no more sorrow, suffering, or atheism. Satan himself believes in God...especially now. He is too full of himself to repent and admit how wrong he has been. He is too full of himself to realize the biggest letter in the word "SIN" is the letter "I". Do you wish to choose that sort of competition?

I wish the best for you, although I seem to agree with nothing you say. I am sorry you are a casualty, personally, I have been saved. Physically, and spiritually.
I was dead, and am alive again, and was lost, and am found. (Luke 15:32)

Most Christians keep their mouth shut--& just try to live a life--it's only the vocal fruitcakes on here that claim they represent the whole of Christianity--the don't seem to realize the immense damage they do to that religion!!

Casualties?
How many of us have you crucified today...... ?
i believe I have survived the likes of you for some time...... Though others have gone their way because they could not take the abuse.... But, some of us remain..... perhaps, till the end!

Ginger

There are infiltrators amongst us. Some study our ways and have developed sophisticated mimicking techniques that help them weasel their way into groups where they gradually try to spread the same disease with which they are afflicted. Beware the infiltrators!
