Prosperity can promote complacency. A Faith Killer!

How hard did Jesus say that it will be for a Rich Man to get in to the Kingdom?

Yes. Looking back, I think I was closest to the Lord when I hardly had two nickles to rub together and my life was in ruins. My faith and trust in Him were all I had, so I lived and breathed His promises 24/7. Things are all better now, so I am not that desperate anymore. I still love Him, I still read His word, and pray and praise Him. But those hard times, well it's odd to say, but they were special times with Jesus.

A definite No, I actually feel more humble and see my prosperity as a blessing to others. I believe that we are given only to share with others. As long as there are homeless, hungry and hurting people no one is prosperous. That is just my opinion.

Faith in God diminishes in direct proportion to the growth of ego and self-love.

It has little to do with knowledge, intelligence, or money, except that those things tend to foster prideful, selfish behavior that draws us away from God.

It is not impossible for a rich man to get into heaven, but according to Jesus, it very difficult. Love of money is idolatry, the root of all evil.

So maintaining our humility (or cultivating it if we are already lacking) is the surest way not to fall into the trap our pride sets for us.

God bless you.

My faith weakens when I have real facts. Facts don't depend on whether you are prosperous or not. Wishful thinking is not something to rely on.

I don't consider faith to be a good thing. It basically means believing something to be true for no real reason. We all do it, but it really should be minimized, not heralded.

Sometimes it has in the past. Now, I just want enough to make ends meet. I do not want to be real poor and I do not care about being real rich.

I think that it grows. I am more keenly aware of the fact that all of my blessings wouldn't be possible if not for God and I become more thankful and faithful.
