Today I had a psychic reading done to help me make some important decisions about my life. The answers I got were not what I wanted to hear but I wasn't surprised.

The main topic was about my relationship with my ex-girlfriend who seems to be 'on-the-fence' about us being together. I just want to know how accurate psychics are and whether it is safe to base decisions on what they say.

BTW...the psychic I visited was quite reputable.

How much is "too much"? At what point do you draw the line and say, "Ok, you're so far off you're not even a Christian!" If the person believes that Jesus has died for their sins, and they believe in Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit, but differ from you in other doctrines, is it still possible that they are not even Christians? Or do you say as long as they believe in Jesus and have accepted him into their life, they are Christians?

Can people be Christians and disagree on the following issues?
- infant baptism vs. adult baptism
- communion as a symbol vs. communion as the actual body and blood of Christ
- once saved always saved vs. backsliding
- inerrancy of Scripture vs. belief that Scripture may have been corrupted somewhat by man
- differences in the order of End-Time events
- etc.

If someone differs from you on these types of issues, do you say they are not a Christian?

he just doesn't want anyone to become alchoholics

Ecclesiastes 9:7 instructs “drink wine with a merry heart.” Psalm 104:14-15 states that God gives wine “that makes glad the heart of men.” Amos 9:14 discusses drinking wine from your own vineyard as a sign of God’s blessing. Isaiah 55:11 encourages “yes, come buy wine and milk…”
What God commands Christians regarding alcohol is to avoid drunkenness (Ephesians 5:18).

ok, maybe now you can unclinch you booties and answer this question

Do most churches develop a complex where they basicaly say what they teach is right and other churches are wrong? since there are literally hundreds of biblical interpretations do christians believe it's right for a specific sect to mud-sling another sect for their beliefs?

i.e: protestants, evangelicals Vs Catholics
Everyone Vs mormens and JW

whatever happend to loving jesus/god, repenting for your sins and reading the bible to get into heaven? do you all really have to fight over who gets in and who doesn't or whose right and whose wrong.

This doesn't apply to all christians of course.

Some say all you have to do is believe in Jesus, that he died for your sins, and that you are a sinner in need of his saving grace. Some say that you have to live a life worthy of Christ afterwards, and I agree.
But many of these same people say that I'm not a Christian. I have done the above. But because I have some doctrinal differences with them, they say I'm not a Christian. I believe Jesus can save people of other religions, even if they don't realize it is Jesus who is saving them. I believe the Bible contains some authentic teachings of Jesus, but I have seen much evidence to believe that it also contains man's word, attributed to Jesus - things he never spoke. So I don't believe every word of the Bible is from God. (I don't think God is a liar. I think man is a liar).
So, after you have accepted Jesus, you can be unsaved because of things like this? Then why say all you have to do is the above? Why not admit that you also have to believe in right doctrine?

The talking snake from Babylonian Mythology?

The gods of the Canaanite tribes, like Ba'el?

The Satan in the Book of Job, who seems awfully chummy with God and apparently hangs out in heaven whenever he feels like dropping by?

The Lucifer hybrid story, which is actually an ancient Mediterranean story about the planet Venus, combined with the Latin translation creating the name Lucifer?

The Egyptian mischief god, Set, whom most stories about Satan are derived from, at least the sane ones that cast him as a sort of Mediterranean Loki? Even the name Satan is taken from Set.

The Beast/666/Anti-Christ? That's just cryptic nonsense about Roman Emperors after the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE.

Mephistopheles/The Devil/Satan from Dante's Inferno?

Or the modern American incarnation who is all red with horns?

Do you people realize how much of this comes directly from fiction?

Do you really believe all of this patchwork nonsense amounts to anything real?

Some religions teach that we are all the children of God, but if we are, then how come Jesus said to some " Ye are of your father the devil"?....And why did John write in his epistles that, "in this the children of God and the children of the devil are made manifest." ? It appears that there are two families on the earth, not just one. There is the family of God, who includes the adopted children of God, the children of light, the children of promise, those that have been translated into His marvelous light.....and then there is the family of the devil, those born in darkness , those that remain in darkness, the children of disobedience, the children of wrath, the ones who have their eyes blinded. So why, when the bible teaches this truth, does a religious orginization that claims to be the pillar of truth say that " we are all Gods children" ? Dont they go by the bible?

Immortality, the fountain of youth, the holy grail, the ability to live forever. This has been the dream of the rich the powerful and the affluent for centuries, but would you like to live forever?

There is a story from Russia from the middle ages of an old soldier, who after travelling home from a distant war acquires a sack which can trap anything that he calls into it.

Years later, on his death bed, he sees death standing at the head of his bed. Fearing what lay beyond his death he holds the sack up and calls death into it. He has done it, he has cheated death, he has trapped death in his sack. But nothing died, anywhere anytime. Months later the poor and starving, old and invalid come to him and beg him to release death, so that death may come and take them, releasing them from their suffering. Their cries moved him so much that he released death, and asked death to take him and put the world to rights.

However death was angry with the soldier and not take him. From that time on he was doomed to walk the earth, seeing all those around grow old and die but he never did. He never aged and he never died. He walks the earth to this day.

So my question is, If you (and only you) could live forever would you want to?

Remember, it is not for a thousand or ten thousand years, but forever, till the end of time.

Serious answers only please.

Thanks.

I purchased a couple of items from an online retailer and they sent me my exact order, twice, but only charged me once. I did nothing to perpetuate this at all. Its the companies mistake. Should they pay for their mistake? Should I have to go out of my way to contact them and send the duplicate merchandise back to them? Would I be wrong to keep it? Its not like I wanted for this to happen but its a pain in the butt to me really.

Despite their youth, are very devout charismatic Christians. Levi, who has ambitions of being a pastor, has already preached several sermons at his father's church, Rock of Ages Church in St. Robert, Missouri. He is homeschooled (as are many of the campers), and learns physical science from a book that attempts to reconcile the creationist account with scientific principles, occasionally by dismissing science altogether. He preaches a sermon at the camp in which he declares that his generation is key to Jesus's coming back. Rachael, who also attends Levi's church, is seen praying over a bowling ball early in the film, and frequently passes Christian tracts to people she meets. She doesn't think very highly of non-charismatic churches (or "dead churches," as she calls them), feeling they aren't "churches that God likes to go to."

Often, I’ve seen the question asked “What are some contradictions in the Bible?”
Couldn’t think of any, until now.

Scenario here is this:
1. You accept Jesus into your life as your personal savior.
2. Later, you reject Jesus and begin glorifying Satan.
3. Turn back to Jesus and ask for forgiveness.

Now blasphemy as I know it, is an unforgivable sin.
Would God forgive them and accept them back.

Am I missing something?

Details please!

Is there a "scientific" approach to explain exorcisms? You cant say there is no such thing because there are thousands of accounts about them.

Exorcism means to cast out demons.

Demons=proof there is Satan.

If you believe in Satan, how can you not believe in God?

Don't you know that people use the name of Jesus when they cast out evil spirits?

Question: So if there is no God, how do you explain exorcisms?
