Perhaps this Paradox will explain it?

(Luke 4:6-7-8) And the Devil said to Him, All this power I will give you, and the glory of them; = = for it has been delivered to me. = = And I give it to whomever I will.

(Luk 4:7) Therefore if you will worship me [satan], all shall be yours.

(Luk 4:8) And Jesus answered and said to him, Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, = = "You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve."

1. Satan wanted to be Worshipped by Jesus
2. The ALL... Luke 4:6 ...for it has been delivered unto me was really the Title Deed for the Human Race that was lost by Adam and Eve in their Rebellion against THE WORDS OF GOD... You shall Not Eat!
3. Only GOD can be Worshipped, AS SATAN ALREADY KNEW!
4. Jesus repeated..... YOU SHALL ONLY WORSHIP GOD!

The PARADOX.... Was that Satan..... THOUGHT THAT HE COULD TEMPT GOD.... JESUS... TO VIOLATE HIS OWN WORD! NOT!

GOD..... by Nature and by Person.... CANNOT SIN..... AND CANNOT....VIOLATE..... HIS OWN WORD!

Thanks, RR

A statement etc that seems to contradict itself but which is nevertheless true.Example: If your birthday is on February 29 you could state the paradox that you are thirteen years old although you have only had three birthdays.

It is also related to an oxymoron: Finding an oxymoron is like a bitter sweet sorrow.

Oxymoron is now often used loosely to mean "contradiction in terms."

a paradox is a seeming contradiction, but it is not. On the surface, it looks like a contradiction, but upon closer examination, it is not. I guess the closest example that comes to mind is man having free will, yet God is sovereign and controls all things.

A contradiction is two things that cannot both be true at the same time.

A paradox is something that seems like a contradiction but nevertheless is true.

For example, a paradox: a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not (necessarily) a square.

Look it up!

A paradox can be something that seems true but in the end is contradictory...

It can also be something that is true but not as expected (it would normally be presumed false).. such as a person that can solve very complex mathematical problems.. and yet they cannot drive a car.

It's like saying: The following statement is true. The previous statement is false. Both points cannot be true. The two points contradict each other.

A paradox consists of two facts that are seemingly conflicting, but both are true. They seem to conflict with one another, generally because of a lack of full knowledge.
