The Bible was written by forty different people over a period of hundreds of years. Just a little proof that God is in control and the center of the universe.
The shortest chapter of the Bible is Psalm 117. The longest is Psalm 119. The chapter in the center of the Bible is Psalm 118. There are 594 chapters before and after Psalm 118. Multiply this number by 2 and you'll get 1188. The center verse of the Bible is Psalm 118:8. Psalm 118:8(NKJV): It is better to trust in the LORD than put confidence in man." The word Lord is in the center of this verse and in the center of the Bible. How could this have happened without God's plan and Him in control?

Have you ever contemplated hell as it is traditionally believed to be by some Christians, a place of eternal torment. I am talking torment that makes any Nazi concentration camp look like a tea party and for ALL ETERNITY. If you have, does it make you question:

What exactly does that accomplish? What is the purpose of such a place? Why does God need to create a place like that or allow such a place to exist?

I mean take the worst person you can imagine, Hitler or Jeffery Dahmer. After a few millenia in hell, living out the suffering of every single one of their victims, shouldn't SOME form of resolution, repentance or purging of the soul happen by then?

Why is everlasting torment required? What purpose does it serve to restore universal balance? Why must a soul be kept alive just for the sole purpose of eternal suffering and NEVER have the capacity to learn and grow? Seems like such a waste of energy and human potential. Your thoughts?

I have records of our Family that go back to the 16th century. The men averaged 5' 1 and the women 4' 5--there are some number conversion so these aren't absolute. The Babies averaged 5.5 pounds.

Now, the men average 5'10 and the women 5' 6". Babies average 8 pounds.

Are afraid to tell others the reality of hell?
I see some answers on here that say we are only saved from our "sin" but we are saved not only from our sin, but more importantly hell! Sin sends us to hell, if we are not forgiven and redeemed through Jesus Christ! People need to know the seriousness of sin and hell--, that sin leads to death (hell which is the second death as Revelation describes it)
Many can be ok in sin, thinking they don't need Jesus because they love their sin but they need to know exactly WHAT the consequences of sin are! Do you agree?
I just notice how hell is not spoken of very often, as if people are afraid to scare someone off...but remember it is the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ that saves us! And by leaving hell out of it, you are taking away the main point of the gospel and why Christ died and rose again! Romans 10:17 says "Faith comes from hearing, and by hearing the word of God" --The word is Jesus Christ! The Gospel!

I think William Wilberforce is an outright inspiration.

Myself and my European native wife Nermina just got done watching the movie "Amazing Grace" and we were moved to tears.

I was going to do my own research on Wilberforce, but I'm sure the move was pretty close to 100% accurate. Biographical films usually are.

I wanted to free some African-Blacks, just to set an example for my 8 year old daughter. We were talking about Kenya, Somalia or Arkansas as a first destination.

What say you?

"To keep in silence I resigned
My friends would think I was a nut
Turning water into wine
Open doors would soon be shut
So I went from day to day
Tho' my life was in a rut
'Til I thought of what I'd say
Which connection I should cut
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home.
Watched by empty silhouettes
Who close their eyes but still can see
No one taught them etiquette
I will show another me
Today I don't need a replacement
I'll tell them what the smile on my face meant
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" I said "You can keep my things,
They've come to take me home."

I LOVE this song! Oh, that 7/4 beat!. And Gabriel's not even a Christian, this was a song about the break-up of Genesis that included met-a-phors, which are not supposed to be taken lit-er-ally, much like some ancient texts I know. 'Turning water into wine' may not be literal in the Bible either! Whoa! :-)

It is a law of shechitah, the slaughtering of animals, that in the two months following Chanukah, (according to the Simlah Chadashah, siting Gemmorah Chulin) a shokhet (jewish slaughterer) must eat a piece of any goose he slaughters in that time, because it is a tradition fom Moses at Mt. Sinai, that witches use Geese to duel, and that because of this, in the two months following Hannukah there is one hour when a person who slaughters a goose and doesn't eat of it will die. Since we don't know when that hour is, every shokhet who slaughters a goose in that time must eat of it. Ashkenazi custom is from the foot.

Jews, do you believe this?

As it is listed as a tradition from Moses at Mt. SInai, are you aware that the Rambam, siting Gemmorah Rosh HaShanah, says if you don't believe even one tradition from Moses at Mt. Sinai you have lost your portion in the World to Come?

Does this scare you, particularly Orthodox Jews?

I no longer have any respect for the Christian faith. I see the majority of them as death cultist who pray for the end of the world, worship a celebite hanged man, and have the arrogence to claim that their own Gods will be the ones to judge my worthiness. That worthiness only being attained by joining their cult. Should I practice some more patience and tolerate/ignore their opprosive and evil ways, or should I go over the edge and become an Anti-Christ.
