Well, I will be honest with you sweetie. Unfortunately not all people who claim the "Christian" name, are truly saved. I for years called myself a Christian when I was younger. I just was kind of born into it and so I naturally considered myself Christian. This doesn't mean I was perfect. I still did the stupid mean stuff other teens do as well. I made bad choices and hung out with the wrong crowd, drank, and smoked. I was pulled in by temptation. It wasn't until my early 20s that God smacked me upside the head. I hit the ground hard!!! It was then and only then that I realized I was nothing without God. I had to submit myself to Him!! It was at this time that I had a real change of heart.

So I just have to bet that the girls who treated you so poorly were probably ones that were just like me. They thought they knew it all...and talked the talk but didn't walk the walk. (It is much easier to talk it without walking it!!) I wish there was something I could do to help you feel better.

It seems that in the 10 answers you got, the majority weren't really from Christians. Well, I am a Christian and I hope you see that I truly do speak from the heart. God Bless!

I'm sorry to hear you've had these problems. I'm not surprised though. We Christians find it hard to understand how anyone can think differently than we do, especially when we've grown up in a small town and nearly everyone we knew went to one of the Christian churches in town.

Still, .... it's not a good reason to assume that the atheists do not have good morals or values. I know this to be simply not true.

Often times when a person is a believer who has found a new truth in what they believe they get a bit overzealous in trying to tell others about it. You seem to have been a victim of such a situation. You got caught by what we used to call "Bible Thumpers." These are people who come around and swat you over the head with "The Good News." They don't understand that delivery is part of the message and it hurts the way they are doing it.

Jesus was not one of those types of people at all. He got to know the people he met. Sometimes he even took the time to become a good friend. Then he provided for their needs. Some he fed actual food. Some he washed feet. Some he just comforted with his words and his touch. That's the example he left us. Often we don't use that example as a guide. We pick up that Bible and use it as a weapon in an inappropriate way.

Sorry you have fallen victim to that. I hope you find that not all of us are like that.

I hope I'm not offending anybody with this [as I'm no longer a Christian] but : Christians find it hard to accept that there might be other options out there than their one 'god'. Most Christians have followed that religion their whole lives [stemming from parents and such] and so they probably havn't thought about other religions with an open mind. I find it fascinating that only the Christian 'god' has no name - god in itself is just and adjective, not actually a name.

Please don't take this comment the wrong way - I do not wish to offend anyone.

I hope this helped someone find what they were looking for. If you ever want to talk to me, feel free to e-mail or message me.

I know it is true that many atheists are good moral people--sometimes more so than supposedly religious people. However--looking beyond their individual lives--how did they get that way? And I say the answer is, Not by being atheists. It's like riding a bike with no hands: it can be done. But not a good example to others. And also, when the accumulated credit runs out, try turning to atheism as a source of strength.

They mistake the guidance of their religions for the exercise of the human conscience. A person who can be as "good" and "righteous" as they are without acknowledging God jeopardizes the mindset that goodness requires that God. There MUST be some evil, hidden, immoral thing that will allow them to condemn the atheist to Hell. One need not actually be an atheist, by the way. All you have to do is disagree with THEM. Christians are just as nasty to other Christians. They'll just gang up against atheists if they can... then go back to their own gang wars later.

I don't think these bullies should call themselves christians. A real christian wouldn't have said or done such cruel things. I'm sorry they did that to you. I guess that for some Chritians exsistence of other religons or anthiesm shakes their own belief and scares them. You have a right to what you do or don't belive. maybe they were also just mean girls who needed an excuse for their behaviour that they considered "justified".

Statistics rather than Christians show that people who have no spiritual center are often not grounded with morals. They do not believe in any afterlife or accountability for what happens in the Earth. When you do not believe in God, then you have no accountability. To some, the truly evil, prisons are a haven and not believing in God is one step towards being immoral in daily behaviors. Tell me, if you have no respect for the creator of the world, then do you have respect for Mans Laws? WHAT ARE YOUR MORALS?

As a Christian, I say they was wrong. I would like to see an atheist become a Christian, but if they don't want to, that's OK with me, because they have the right to believe in what they want.

Yeah i've got continuously puzzled approximately that, too. I under no circumstances ought to comprehend why it replaced into so substantial for a individual to have a faith with the intention to stay a solid existence and be a solid individual. I wish human beings might comprehend that Atheists are purely like quite a few different team of human beings not extra and no much less terrible than all people else. and you will possibly be able to nevertheless have morals and not persist with a "set-faith" that is observed as being a respectable individual.

Christians, in particular, find it difficult to conceive that moral values can exist without a absolute standard (god).
