The point made by other answerers about the likely impact on your mother is a good one.

What is the difference in age between you and mr.wonderful? It may not matter for now but it likely will - running after kids/grandkids for example.

You must have thought of his: If this guy could not stay married previously isn't it likely to go the same with you?

A romantic relationship or just continuing to consider him family? There wouldn't be any legal or medical/genetic reasons why you couldn't pursue a romantic relationship with him, but it might upset members of your family, especially your mother. Consider her feelings before you get too deep.

If you don't mean romantic, then certainly. If you care for him and consider him family, he's family. Just don't invite him to family gatherings until you've cleared it with your mother, as it might make her very uncomfortable.

I think that is wrong, I would never think it is okay to date an ex step anything, my sisters ex boyfriend or even a friends ex. There are plenty of people out there in the world, that you could date..
