Some things that are only theories:

Germ Theory: microorganisms cause disease

Quantum Theory: electrons, protons, and neutrons exist.

These may be mere theories, but we have based vaccines and batteries on them. Should I stop believing in vaccines and batteries because these are just theories?

What I've learned is that the difference between radical muslims and radical Christians is that Radical muslims take planes into buildings and kill people, and Radical Christians write books such as, "Left Behind," I don't like radicals, everything is too extreme, but this is the difference right? Islam should be made illegal in this country.

Saying "You're going to burn in hell if you don't believe in god!" dosen't do anything! I'm a lasped cathloic, and I'm sick of being told I'm going to hell. Jesus himself said that no human is worthy to judge another, and to leave the judgement up to God. Remember the story about the people stoning the prostitute? "He who is without sin can throw the first stone"? Its human nature to sin, we are all born with original sin, so follow the logic, and the point is that NO ONE has the right to throw stones. God wanted you to be patient and kind to others ( Love your enemies?), not to condemn them. Don't people realize that when they do that, they make themselves look bad, make christianity look bad (christianity is a beautiful religion when its done right!) God is about love, not hate. As far as I'm concerned, if you condemn me, you're not a real christian, you're just looking for a reason to feel like you're better then me. Why don't people study the religion they claim to follow?

Both are more concerned with convincing others that they are on a higher moral ground than in actually seeking the truth. Both also rely on making poorly researched and overgeneralized anecdotal arguments to knock the other side like "all religious people are just ignorant fundies", "religion is just a crutch for weak-minded people", or "atheists are evil". They may also use ad hominem attacks like equating people who do bad in the name of a religion with the religion itself.

So many people use this word for just about everything. another person disagrees,it's intolerance. Isn't it when you don't allow another person to have their own views and being unrespectful at the same time? A Disagreement in itself is not intolerance.

It is commendable that you want to share your faith with others. But do you really think that condemning people to hell is going to make people want to come to know God as you know God? Don't you think they've already heard that if they do not choose then they will be punished? And do you think them hearing it one more time will make them realize, all of a sudden, "Wow! This is new information! I will repent right now!"? Wouldn't a better way to get your point across be to listen to what other people believe, and rather than telling them they are wrong, tell them your beliefs and why you choose to believe that way? In this manner we can share our beliefs without the overlying nature of shoving it down their throats...all bundled up in a nice, tolerant package of civility. Is anyone with me here? (This can go for non-Christians as well, so as not to leave you all out). Blessings in the Light of Christ!
