It is commendable that you want to share your faith with others. But do you really think that condemning people to hell is going to make people want to come to know God as you know God? Don't you think they've already heard that if they do not choose then they will be punished? And do you think them hearing it one more time will make them realize, all of a sudden, "Wow! This is new information! I will repent right now!"? Wouldn't a better way to get your point across be to listen to what other people believe, and rather than telling them they are wrong, tell them your beliefs and why you choose to believe that way? In this manner we can share our beliefs without the overlying nature of shoving it down their throats...all bundled up in a nice, tolerant package of civility. Is anyone with me here? (This can go for non-Christians as well, so as not to leave you all out). Blessings in the Light of Christ!

Pangelism is a new philosophy (well, officially new, but has been practiced for quite some time) of love and tolerance for all. It is named after Pangel, from our very forum, because she epitomizes what goodwill and decency are. This philosophy is compatible with all religions, as anyone can treat others with respect.

Richbro,
Sadly, I think you are missing the point of my question. The point is not to stop sharing with people, it is to start treating people with civility and entering "discussion" rather than "hellfire condemnation". I find it a little ironic that you bring up the religious leaders that Jesus called a whitewashed tomb. Were these leaders teaching love and respect for people...or were they harsh and critical on the people? Perhaps we all should take a look to see if our ways coincide with Jesus' ways. As for healing, actually it was a few nights ago...with candle magick. But you likely don't want to hear about that, because "magick is evil". As for your Pangel comments, you are mistaken in whether or not she is relevant. What is important are those qualities that bring about edification and lift people up, rather than tear them down or ridicule them. Pangel is my friend, not my God.

Yes, the Bible says to "speak the truth with love", which many are sadly lacking when they speak.

This is a good question. I understand your plight completely. I know what it feels like to have someone else's beliefs crammed down my thoat then when I don't agree I'm ridiculed. Religion is an ugly battle between good and evil. I call myself a born again Christian but I prefer to think of myself more as a Believer. So many Christians are radical or uptight. And so many other religions call themselves Christians. I think there should be 2 types of people in this world; those who beieve Christ died for our sins and rose 3 days later and those who don't. It is very difficult in this day and age to hear the messages that Believers are are trying to get across to people because there is so much static because of religion. Though I am a Believer i am not religious and would never cram something down someone's throat. However because Believers care so much about people and what may happen to them I and always testing waters with people. And I always try to be available questions.

The Bible tells us In Jude 22 and 23 that we are to save some
with compassion and others with fear.
Not everyone will respond to what we believe whether it is given in love or spoken with pronouncements of God's wrath, however, some will respond - some to love and some to fear of God's wrath and judgment.
If those two aspects of God's nature weren't necessary they would not be in the Bible. Both are needed in sharing the gospel, and if Christ shared them with others, I will too. To teach one aspect to the exclusion of the others is to propogate a deception. Psalms tells us that "the fear of the Lord is the BEGINNING of wisdom." Basically that means that those who don't fear the Lord have no wisdom. I didn't write it, but I know who did and I believe Him.
The Bible tells us that "Strait is the gate and narrow is the way
that leads to eternal life and few there be that find it; but broad
is the road that leads to destruction, and many go in thereat."
Jesus spoke those words and He is the wisest person ever to walk this planet.
Whatever it takes to move someone from unbelief to faith in Christ is worth the time and effort. God will judge the efforts of Christians as well as those who reject Christ. Our business
is to hear and read His word and obey it whether it is pleasing to us or not.

I don't talk about Hell very much at all. It does nothing for the furtherance of the Gospel in almost all cases. The one's that seem to be bringing up Hell a lot are those that want to rant-- those who are not believers. It's not my style!
EDIT: What is
pangelism. It's not in the online dictionary.

Pangel is irrelevant.
Pangel was not crucified for my sins, Jesus is the "Only" one that is worthy! God's word is ultimate, highest authority.
What level of righteousness have you attained that your counsel is above God's?
People condem their own selves to hell by rejecting Jesus as payment for their sins. Some people, like me, needed to hear it thousands of times, and then all of a sudden, it hit home and I realized what a thick skull I had!
God's Word, not Guvo's or Pangels, tells us that Jesus is to be our example, and his example has been working just fine thank you.
Jesus told some of the religious leaders back when He was walking the earth, that they were whitewashed tombs with darkness in their hearts and that they were going to hell.
......................................................................
Matthew 23:26-28
Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.
In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
......................................................................
Other times, he was kind and healed the lame and told them not to sin anymore.
..................................................................
John 5. 8-14
Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk."
At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,
And so the Jews said to the man who had been healed, "It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat."
But he replied, "The man who made me well said to me, 'Pick up your mat and walk.' "
So they asked him, "Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?"
The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.
Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, "See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you."
...............................................................
We are to be led by His Spirit and not Guvo's or Pangels!
When was the last time you healed someone?
...................................................................
Ecclesiastes 3
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
A time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
A time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
A time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
A time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
A time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
A time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
.................................................................
I would suggest that you quit being such a brown-nosed suck-up and turn away from Pangel as your god!
If you really care about her, you would be telling her over and over about accepting Jesus as her saviour so she wont end up in HELL!!

Or how about saying, "Your beliefs are wrong." Telling people that they are wrong is just going to enforce their belief. There shouldn't be compulsion in religion anyways.
