HI
i don't believe that people go to heaven but will be ressurected here on earth, I worship god because he gave us everything and did not keep anything to himself not even his first born son so that we could have forgiveness for the sin Adam and Eve spread throughout their offspring.

Jews to not worship for rewards in an afterlife, there are a host of reasons to worship but the most basic is the relationship.

I am not sure who it was but I think it was Heschle who told the story of being on a train with a holocaust survivor and he (Heschle) took out Tefillin and prayed, after he was done the survivor told him that he no longer prays after what happened in the holocaust. The next morning as Heschle started to take out the Tefillin and pray he noticed the other man was doing the same. He asked him why he was praying after what he said the day before. The man replied that he felt sorry for G-d and decided to forgive him because if the Jews abandoned him look who G-d be left with.

When we worship God we thank Him for all the many things He has done for us, and at the same time remind ourselves that those are the things He expects us to do for others. Judaism is a religion of action, not belief. We have many obligations to God, and treating others with loving kindness is one of the highest commandments.

The bottom line, I suppose, is that peace on earth is the goal of Judaism and we must work together as one loving, community toward that end -- then there will no longer be "others."

Earth. He promises us eternal life on earth. Psalms 37:10, 11, 29

Health. If we just obey the laws against committing fornication, gluttony, drunkedness, rivelry, murder, eating blood, . . . imagine the health benefits.

Happiness. When we apply the things we learn from the scriptures, we can have true happiness right now by being a part of a spiritual paradise. Just being aware that we need God's spirit, . . . Matthew 5:3 brings us happiness.

Family harmony. When we follow the natural arrangement, our families are united and are truly happy to serve God in unison.

Peace with our neighbors. Again, when we apply God's law to love our neighbor as ourselves and to love God with your whole heart, mind, and strength, (as well as the law against murder) we will live peacefully with our neighbors - foreign or domestic.

I forgot to mention Rev. 4:11 HE IS WORTHY BECAUSE HE CREATED US.

I could go on.

Because God gets you there, I mean who >really< loves god anyway. If he didn't offer Heaven and threaten with Hell people would just ignore it like so many other religions of the world.

Deep reverence and respect for an All-Powerful Being Who has the power to create the universe and everything in it....
and yet loves us enough to stoop to become human (with all the suffering that entails), only n order to give us the gift of eternal life.
Heaven wouldn't be heaven, if He weren't there......

Because God created us and gave us life. Because God blesses us, even when we don't deserve it. Because God loves us and gave his son to die so we all could live. Because I want to be a good, moral, Christian and follow God.

Basically... there's many reasons why I worship God.

God created us to worship Him.

God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. (John 4:24)

Those of us who appreciate what God has done for us, we worship Him with thanksgiving and praise.
