In Matthew 25, Jesus tells the story of 10 virgins waiting for the wedding party to show for a reception. As they wait, 5 of the virgins run out of oil for their lamps, and have to go purchase more. While they are gone, the bridegroom arrives, enters and begins the reception. The other 5 virgins find themselves locked out.
The interpretation of the store is the reception is the return of Christ. Jesus is the "bridegroom" in the story. The 5 foolish women are not ready, and so get left out at his return.

In Matthew 25 Jesus tells the parable of the bridegroom coming for his bride. The point of the story was that when the bridegroom comes, some aren't prepared and so get left behind. He concludes the story saying, "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour." His point seems to be that we need to be watchful and prepared for his coming.
Revelation 19:7 refers to the "wedding of the Lamb" who is coming for the bride "who has made herself ready." Revelation 21:2 says, "I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband." This heavenly city will be the home of all the believers (Hebrews 12:22-24).
