There are plenty of spiritual masters specially in the east. Spirituality is a lucrative business, people follow most popular masters going by "herd instinc" without questioning much about the master's authenticity / teachings. Taking advantage of ignorance of masses, these masters ruin the spirit of spirituality.

How do you choose a spiritual master? Who is a true master who is not?

In 1 Corinthians 13, the Word of the Lord talks about the quality and significance of love. In the last segment it notes "where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge , it will pass away. For we know in part and and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears." Our knowing in part will be replaced by us knowing in full. As such I was wondering, how much effort should we put in to knowing in part. I think there is the temptation of wanting to know everything... but that seems impractical, because it wont give us time to simply practice the truths we arleady know (theoretical vs. practical). Where do you think a healthy balance is?

I find it too vulgar. I wish you luck. There have been some nice people on here, but some wicked ones too. I hope to see you nice Christians in Heaven one day, and soon the way this world is going. I now realise this is how Satan can get into your mind. Yes computors are addictive. My mother has offered to come over and get rid of it for me. Good idea. I really need to be spending more time with God and his Son Jesus than getting on here and getting hate mail. God will deal with them. Christians I am fortunate I have God on my side. Being on here takes time away from God, and this will not happen. Christians I am hopini g of here permanatly.I have to remember that God said vengance is mine said the Lord I will repay. Christians I may see you sooner that we think in the rapture. Good luck Christians and God bless. Leanne

I hear a lot of criticisms on this board about pastors, including some that base their opinions because of a few pastors.

It seems to me that the critics seem to be very judgmental about pastors. Yes, there are some very bad ones, and some very, very compassionate and good ones as well.

Could you admit that perhaps there are some very compassionate and caring pastors out there?

Have you ever walked a mile in what a pastor goes through in a week's time. They live in a glass house (just like any public figure does), they are on call 24/7/365. They are expected to be there for any and all crises that erupt. They also get calls on a regular basis from people who don't attend church and need help and have to determine who is really needing help and who is just trying to scam them, they also have to live a perfect life or face judgments, their sermons are criticized, and their entire family's behavior can affect their livelihood.

Could you be perfect in that pressure?

In the Quran theres a verse that says;

The angels and the Spirit ascend to Him in a day whose length is fifty thousand years. (Surat al-Ma'arij, 4)

What does this mean and does this give us an indication of how long a day in Gods standards are?
