In the Quran theres a verse that says;

The angels and the Spirit ascend to Him in a day whose length is fifty thousand years. (Surat al-Ma'arij, 4)

What does this mean and does this give us an indication of how long a day in Gods standards are?

Not neccessarily the word for day in Arabic is "yaum" which can be translated as day or a long period of time. This verse is simply saying that the period required for angels and the spirits to ascend unto Allah is fifty thousand years.

EDIT:

What Chanteur 68 is saying below is just plain fabrication on his part. Everybody knows that the Quran was revealed in Arabic to one person, that being Muhammad (pbuh). I really have no idea where he got that from.

2 Peter 3:8.....However, let this one fact not be escaping YOUR notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.
