We call it a "baby shower", in that you rain gifts upon the mother-to-be and celebrate the baby's coming. We also do it in the seventh or eighth month.

English people do not celebrate the seventh month pregnancy. In Hindi it is called 'godbharai'.

we have baby showers (a party where we give her some baby gifts) during a ladies pregnancy, but i don't know of any celebration for her seventh month.

It is called PUMSAVANAM or SEEMANTAM.

This is celebrated to bless the pregnant woman to give birth to a child having all virtues.

The woman will be attaining motherhood by procreation. Since the act of creation is Devinne this is also felt equally Devinne.

In India it is called Goad Bharai i.e. the woman is carrying a baby in her lap and to welcome the baby a party is organized where all relatives and chosen friends are invited and shower gifts and blessings to the mother to be and the coming child.
