As I understand it, marijuana is not a part of the Buddhist practice. If I am wrong about that, I apologise, but it sounds like you're looking for an excuse to use marijuana.
If the DEA saw it like that, then they are pretty much allowed to restrict your ability to do so.
If you do have actual reason to do so within your religion, then I apologise for my initial assumption and I assume you will be allowed to.

Sure but we could all say that is for our religious freedom, you are not the first and won't be the last.
People need to stand up and stop all this non-sense about pot being illegal, wasting our money, jails, police, the list is endless of the wastes associated with the need to keep it illegal.....let's just legalize it, tax it and make some money...
sorry it just irritates the seeds out of me....

Do Buddhsits traditinally use Marijuana.
The US government allows native indians to use Peyote in religious ceremonies becaue it dates back hundreds of years.

Buddhism specifically rejects using any drugs to alter your state of mind. I think that they could definitely figure this out if you tried to argue that Buddhism requires it.
