Substance can assume different forms. But sometimes people confuse form with substance or don't know the difference between them, which often leads to wrong beliefs. So how do we distinguish between a form and the substance in Christianity?

2 Samuel 1:26
"I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women."

In the society of ancient Israel, it was not considered proper for a man and woman to have a platonic relationship. Men and women rarely spoke to each other in public. Since David's only relationships with women would have been sexual in nature, then he must be referring to sexual love here. It would not make sense in this verse to compare platonic love for a man with sexual love for a woman; they are two completely different phenomenon. It would appear that David is referring to his sexual love for Jonathan.

Would you tell others about what has happened to you? Would you want to spread the Good news of salvation to others, or would you keep it to yourself?

Ok this isn't a real R&S question to most of you but it can be.

I would vote Trek because the plot doesn't involve yelling "NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Okay, I'm 13 years old and I'm extremely intrested in magic. I wanted to know if it was possible for some more...instant spells- ones that you dont have to light a billion candles for.
And for all of you devout christians: don't worry. I'm not turning against God (I AM involved in my church) but I like to see the other side of things. That and I've always adored fantasy.
Thank you!

When was your day of conception? When did you profess your faith and please tell me detailed the story of how?

To Muslims, when did you take your Shahadatiyn? To Christians, when were you baptized or 'born again'? To Atheists, when did you lose your faith or-- better yet-- open your eyes? To Agnostics, when did you start to question your previous faith? etc...

As for me, Allah awakened me on March 12, 2006, but my Shahadatiyn was on July 14, 2006.

However, I will never forget March 12th as the day that I knew Allah was real because -- by His Mercy -- He granted my wish...

...of course that atheism is not a religion. But does it not involve some degree of faith too - in science, and in our image of the world, for instance? [the lazy ones can stop reading here - but don't you complain about not getting my point]

I do wish science was as solid as the table I'm resting my arms on now while typing, but it requires quite a good portion of belief - if in nothing else, then at least in the uniformity of the universe - which is the one thing that should guarantee that my experiments can be generalized to theories.

So arguments please - why is this more mature and objective than religion?

(I am a rather faithful believer in science and logic myself, but I think that this exercise is needed anyway)

I'm not saying this proves evolution, I just found this to be interesting.

As we all know, the human appendix is a vestigial structure, meaning that it serves no known purpose (some argue that it is made out of lymphatic material and is part of the immune system).

A handful of people have been found to be born without an appendix. Since the appendix supposedly has no purpose, is it evolution at work that few are born without these vesitigal organs, or is it simply a genetic defect?

Afterall, no one has been known to be born without a coccyx (tailbone, also vestigial) or without a gall bladder (serves a purpose in digestion, but most people can easily live without it).
