I just read this recently but I don't have much of a source. Does anyone have any information out there with a reference?

All I know is that they were not written by the people they are named after. I always thought that when I was a little kid but just recently found out that is not true. Whoever wrote them added the names of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John to them later.

The Gospels are a collection of stories handed down through the ages. Nothing more.
