According to Christians, god is omnipotent, omniscient, and immortal. He/she/it can do anything, be anything... basically change the universe the way we take a breath.
Ergo, god could have as many "sons" as god wants. If god can do anything, and have anything, than god cannot SACRIFICE. Even if Jesus was god, sacrifice is an impossible concept for an all powerful being, because it can never be less than it is. Therefore, there is no reason why I should *feel* anything concerning god's so called loss, because it could not happen.
This is just another slick control method the creators of this religion employed. They obviously knew that humans could relate powerfully to the concept of losing a child, so they wrote it in to make the followers feel guilt.
An eight year old child can think through the contradictions in this religion, which I guess is why I became an atheist at seven.
