It's obvious that we will never agree on whether god exists or not so why don't we agree on things that we know do exist.
Peace, love, and compassion. Doesn't god represent these things anyway? The absolutes can never be changed or corrupted by man, it is what it is and if we all strived to be the best human we can, we can put aside all this silly bickering. God does not want us to fight; he wants us to get along regardless of belief.
It would be amazing if for one day there were no insults, hateful remarks, or criticism on the R&S section. Lets make it happen!

I totally agree... and thanking you for your sweet gesture... I wonder when will people realise that we are brothers and sisters in humanity before we are part of any beliefs or relgions... Really, that was my attitude a long time ago... coz I believe that peace, love, and compassion can make the world a better place.

I highly doubt that will happen. As much as many people want that to happen, other people won't realize it. When you said "Doesn't god represent these things anyway?", that kind of went opposite of your first line about people never will agree on whether god exists or not because people will say yea it does but to their OWN god. So either way, no one will ever agree on the same god because religions go way to far back to change.

I agree with your premise, but not your belief in the divinity of any deity. Now, I say to you, is the problem the acknowledgement and acceptace of Peace, Love and Compassion or is it the ability of people to practice these things true to the core? I believe the problem is the scope of people which some feel these things should be bestowed on.

You have a good point. Most religions claim that God...or whatever they call It....is the essence of love, peace, compassion, mercy, grace, etc. They go about describing these things as attributes of God and then ask followers to work towards implementing these same qualities into their own lives. And even religions where God is not seen as a primary figure (Buddhism, Jainism, Taoism, etc) these qualities are still spoken of as being of a very high value...as essential to spiritual life.

Anyway, most people probably agree that peace, love, and compassion are good things, but not everyone... look no further than the ones who prowl Y!A asking hateful, bigoted questions or giving hateful, bigoted answers to get other people's hackles up.

It's a nice gesture. Unfortunately there are some people on this forum who can't say anything nice or positive at all. They don't see anything positive in anybody they only see negative things in others. As long as there are people who want to argue then it will continue. Some people don't use this forum for what it was meant for and that was to learn about different things. Instead they misuse and abuse this forum by trying to convert and deconvert people to and from religions.
