From my perception, Muhammad was just another in a long line of people who came to say that we cannot trust the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation and must regard his teaching alone as the revealed word of God. What gives Muhammad's Qur'an credibility over the Bible?

Jack - I'm aware of that. That doesn't even touch the question.

Muhammad read translations of the same material that the Bible we read today was taken from. He didn't see them as corrupted.

Pierce - I believe the message of the Bible has been preserved, non-critical textual variations notwithstanding. In that text Jesus offers eternal life by faith in His atoning sacrifice, and Islam requires that we ignore that detail. I will be judged according to the righteousness of Christ, not by my righteousness. Islam denies you that option. Why reject this gift of eternal life? Because you "want to"?

Mark - You cannot believe both what is written in the Bible and what is written in the Qur'an.

Muslims believe that God sent messengers each preaching the idea that their is no God but He. they also believe that God sent Moses, and from his teachings became what we know today as the Jewish religion. Then came Jesus, and got the religion we know as Christianity. And last but not least, God sent Muhammad pbuh to perfect the monotheistic religion, and it was thus, called Islam. So, if your a believer and first converted to become a Jew, when christianity came, you were supposed to become and covert into a christian and later on a muslim. (if your truly following the idea behind the religion God sent us). In the Koran, the Bible and the Old Testament are mentioned and they are respected as the sacred books for the previous religions God has sent us. We do believe in Jesus, and we believe in Mosus, and ofcourse we believe in Muhammad pbuh, as he was sent by God to perfect the christian religion, and was last of the prophets. the koran has not been altered by man kind, unlike the Bible and Torah, but, has been preserved since it was brought down. Look at it this way, Islam is the newest of religions, that is perfected and is the modern version of God's word. similarly, our book is the Koran, which has never been altered and is the most modern version of God's word and religion.

Adam-Muhammad(PBUT*) are all prophets of ALLAH. We Muslims respect the original Bible and orginal Torah that was revealed to Prophet Isa(PBUH*) which was the Bible and the Torah which was given to Musa(PBUH*). The orginal Injeel and Torah were burned and altered by man. So the Bible and Torah now are not correct. ALLAH sent the Qur'an to Prophet Muhammad(PBUH*) as the last and final revelation of ALLAH about Islam. ALLAH has protected the Qur'an for 1400 years and will continue to do so until the Day of Judgement and maybe even beyond then. We don't believe Muhammad(PBUH*) over Isa(PBUH*) we just respect the Qur'an more as it has not and can never be changed or altered by man.

Like other prophets Jesus also performed miracles. For example, he raised the dead and cured the blind and lepers, but while showing these miracles he always made it clear that it was all from God. Actually the misconceptions about the personality and mission of Jesus found a way among his followers because the Divine message that he preached was not recorded during his presence in the world, rather it was recorded after a lapse of about hundred years. According to the Quran he was sent to the children of Israel; he confirmed the validity of the Torah which was revealed to Moses and he also brought the glad tidings of a final messenger after him.Plus the quran hasnt been altered like the bible.

We dont believe one prophet is greater dan da oder, we acknowledge all of deir teachings BUT we believe dat da final messenger of God is Muhammed(saw).

Muslims don't preferr muahmmad(pbuh) over the christ. Muslims believe in the revelation that was revealed to isa and muhammad(pbuh) to be the truth. Muslims believe jesus to be the messiah and he too will one day return to earth. But he shall judge mankind by the quran.

"And there is no distinction amongst the prophets"-qu'ran

It is incumbent upon muslims to preferr the life of muhammad(pbuh) above thiers. With that submission that was commanded by allah, we learn the truth. That there is no GOD but GOD and muhammad(pbuh) is HIS messenger. Until you read the quran with an open heart granted by allah, then it will be hard for one to understand the mercy of a great reminder that is the qu'ran and the messenger prophet muhammad(pbuh). Muhammad(pbuh) is no false prophet and once one accepts that then they can see with thier hearts that islam is the truth. Only if allah wills. Alhumdulillah. Salaam!

Both the prophets came at different times......Muhammad(pbuh) came to testify the jesus(pbuh) message.......there is no difference preference wise.both came with the same message but at different times....whenever God feels need of some guidance for the peoples, he sent his prophets with that message....this is why he sent Muhammad(pbuh) after jesus(pbuh) as He felt the need of it and this was not strange to accept as he has also sent prophets before and muhammad didn't tell anything different from jesus.rather he confirmed it.....Credibility of Quran is that it is the last book that is being revealed.....and complete code for all humen for all times.........bible is being touched by humen...and it is changed By St Paul 300 years after jesus(pbuh) being raised to heaven so it does not give the original message of God !and thats why we follow Quran because it is latest on and is preserved as well !

GOD Laws are made of three Books: The Old Testament, The new Testament and Quran as a conclusion all originated from the middle east. How can you understand GOD LAWS with out reading GOD Conclusion?
"Say: we believe in God and in what has been revealed to us, and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il: Isaac, Jacob and The Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus and the Prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another, among them, and to God do we bow our will (in Islam)." (Qur'an, Al-Imran 3:84)

Muslims have self assurance that Jesus grew to become into and is the Messiah. because it says in the Quran: "And bear in concepts) while the angels reported: O Mary! God giveth thee happy tidings of a be conscious from Him, whose call is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, illustrious in the international and the Hereafter, and one among those introduced close to (unto God)." Quran 3:forty 5 we don't regard the Prophet Muhammad as Messiah. Muhammad has different titles, inclusive of Seal of the Prophets and loved of God. The identify of Messiah belongs to Jesus (peace be upon them the two)
