I am Ortodox Christian and I am interested to know if God looks like a man in the Jewish theology of Torah. In the Old Testament of our Bible it is shown at Daniel , Iezechiah , Isaiah that God (The Father)looks like a man , psysically.
But in our theology God doesn't look like a man , He has no legs, no hair..
Thank you so much.

I'm going to put each definition in additional details, so bear with me. I think if we're going to discuss things like the "theory of gravity", "theory of evolution", et al.. we need to understand these definitions and not use layman's terms.

The basis to claim one is faith backed up by words in a book.

The basis for the other is evidence. Observation of the many societies in which each sets up a God which is like something they have seen or known and which is bigger and stronger than themselves and usually can give or withhold gifts.

I can see where Creationism comes from in some people's literal reading of the Bible, but I'm really stumped about this whole rejection of Newton and gravity thing. So in the non-gravitational universe, what keeps me from bumping my head on the ceiling?

In short, why is gravity so threatening to theists? - for once in my life, really no pun intended.

I sometimes do get drunk but have recently started working at night which means I have to get the bus late... I see all these people off their faces acting so violent and dangerously, i feel intimidated and scared and am begining to wonder how all this drinking is actually legal. It's making me think twice before I get drunk again.

What's your view?

"I choose not to believe in evolution"
"I choose not to believe in gravity"

From a scientific point of view they are, you see.
