Jesus will save us
If you believe with your heart
Speak it with your tongue.

Not a Christian, felt up to the challenge.

This is pretty cool. I'll give it a shot, though this might wind up being more of a senryu (which is still 5-7-5), because a haiku is generally about nature. Senryu is actually supposed to be on human nature, and can sometimes be more of a parody. I'm a published poet (even if I don't know why, lol), sorry, had to add that in. Anyway, here goes.

Christ, the Son of God
Through the ages, a beacon
Of love unequaled.

This Savior of all
is supposed to shine through all
Who call Him Lord God.

I guess it was two for the price of one, lol. They're not very good. I think I'M the one who needs more coffee, though I should be wide awake!

I looked up haiku, I'll try to write one for you. Sounds like a fun project, thanks! :) I'll edit asap.
OK this one is for you, I hope I did it right.

Everyday I pray
With Jesus on my laptop
Gods will I won't stop

lol, that was fun. Do poets put a whole bunch of them together or are they always really short? Should they rhyme?

Pagan Earthgirl, your haiku is beautiful!

I love haiku!

The only problem I have with the subject of haiku is: people don't know how to read or write it. I cringe every time I read feeble attempts at writing this wonderful genre.

Haiku is not just about syllabic 5-7-5 it's much more than that.

*Now, how'd ya like that mini-rant with your coffee?*
