This is a major problem with my friends at school and my family. Wouldn't it just be easier to know God and work towards good than going towars things of this world. I really want to know.

If so, why do some christians claim that there is no such thing as an atheist? Is this some way to deny our existence? It is extremely insulting to be told by other people that you do not exist.

An atheist is one who has no beliefs in any god(s). This is very different from a belief that there are no god(s). Do christians see the difference? or not?

Specifically, how do we create a better understanding and greater tolerance between religions? I realize this is an extremely difficult question, but I would like to hear suggestions and thoughts on the subject.

Thanks in advance!

I believe that Noah's flood was global, not local--I mean, does anyone really believe that God promised to never send another LOCAL flood? But I would really like to hear arguments for one or the other (although I am, admittedly, more interested in hearing arguments for a local flood :D )
Thanks!

I'll go first. I do believe in souls (and that all things have souls) because I had an experience where I saw something "leave" a bird's body at its moment of death. The thing was a glowing white light that was semi-opaque, the bird was black, and it was completely dark outside. It was personal experience and my analyzation of that personal experience that led me to my belief.

My ENTIRE family are christians, I can't talk to my mom for more then two minutes sometimes without hearing something about god(she still thinks im christian) and I don't know anyone else who shares my beliefs, (im an atheist) and it's hard being around them sometimes. I can't really tell them I'm atheist either for one reason: my mom has a mental disorder and if I told her, I think she'd have a breakdown. I live with both my parents btw. any advice?

A divorced mother is choosing to raise her son as a Jehohvah's Witness. The father, who has visitation rights access, is NOT a JW. What should the father's position be, during the son's visits? Should he restrict his chosen activities during his son's visits, based solely on the MOTHER'S "beliefs", if he does NOT share those "beliefs"?

Was muhammad(pibuh) too ugly to be pictured? Is that also why he had to marry an old hag Kadijah in his youth, and subsequently rob the wives of others and commit pedophilia.

Out of so many wives, how many of them were old enough, pretty enough, and smart enough to make a conscious decision to marry muhammad? From my knowledge, NONE.

So, Muhammad(pibuh) had to resort to trickery, cheating and lying to get his way through in life?

That is sad, but the absolute truth based on historians' findings.

I am an ex-muslim and I am ahsamed at how he shamelessly defended himself after speaking up for the devil in Ishaq 166. I want to save my fellow muslims from the lies of muhammad and allah (a name of some moon idol). Do you think this is wrong?

My pastor says that being a one of God's anointed you are suppose to live right to achieve God's purpose, for you; and that if you did mess up you would be passing down your anointing to another.

Definition: The word “hell” is found in many Bible translations. In the same verses other translations read “the grave,” “the world of the dead,” and so forth. Other Bibles simply transliterate the original-language words that are sometimes rendered “hell”; that is, they express them with the letters of our alphabet but leave the words untranslated. What are those words? The Hebrew she’ohl′ and its Greek equivalent hai′des, which refer, not to an individual burial place, but to the common grave of dead mankind; also the Greek ge′en‧na, which is used as a symbol of eternal destruction. However, both in Christendom and in many non-Christian religions it is taught that hell is a place inhabited by demons and where the wicked, after death, are punished (and some believe that this is with torment).

My sister in law and her husband moved right nextdoor to some missionaries (elders) a few months ago, and started going to the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.(some might think thats great) But the problem is that this couple is kind of like the jelly of the month club.(they never stick with things) So after visiting with the church awhile they got baptised and her husband was considering joining the ministry. Now not even 2 and a half weeks later they are already showing the pre-signs of bordum. It doesnt help that no one in their families have shown any support,(lots of casting judgments) but these guy seem hopeless.
I told her I love her and support her no matter what, but that I thought they needed some more time to decide to get baptised & that this wasnt something to be taken lightly, she said I know and giggled. I feel so strongly about my faith, and to have her be so none shelaunt about it really concerns me. They dont even really fathem that their Mormons now!

I've had visions in my dreams and im not sure but is God trying to tell me something? For example, when my grandmother passed I was real depressed and even cried one night when I started thinking about us in the past so she and God came to me in a dream. I dont even remember what God looked like but I knew it was him and she was there standing next to him in the gates of heaven. She told me to not worry about her and that shes doing fine, I never felt depressed when thinking about her since then without no professional help.

So, plus that and the multiple visions i've had.. do you guys think God is trying to tell me something and/or is protecting me. I can see that hes trying to protect me with that dream about my grandma, but what about the visions? I know its not deja vu.. I see it in my dreams and then it happens in real life, so what do you all think?

"For all have sinned .." seems like there is no escape from sin, one is a sinner as soon as born and condemned to atone. The rest of life is a journey trying to erase the stigma of birth and by going on a guilt trip every Sunday to be reminded how we are all "sinners" and nobody should be haughty and offend the Lord by even daring to suggest they have never sinned. So it seems like sin is a precondition for birth. You are born because you are a sinner and you are a sinner just because you have been born. A vicious cycle of sin and birth. Could this be the secret of eternal life, keep sinning so that you are BORN AGAIN and Again and Again ... eternal life through reincarnation? I do not feel like I have sinned and am having too much fun in life to go on a guilt trip. It seems like eternal life is here on earth and you go through reincarnations to get a new body to shelter the soul each time. So sinners rejoice and say Hallelujah and Praise the Lord for having sinned. Any doubts, reply.

Think about it. There has to be an equal amount of births compared to deaths, at least on earth anyway, to balance the population growth. Well, if EVERYONE dies, and EVERYONE goes either to heaven or hell, but there's no death in heaven or hell to balance the population, theoretically, could heaven or hell ever become overpopulated?
