Do Catholics prefer people who fornicate not to use condoms?

The Catholic Church makes it a practice not to tell people how to sin.

Fornication with or without a condom is still fornication.

Adultery with or without a condom is still adultery.

The Catholic Church would prefer no one fornicate at all. However, such is the nature of fallen mankind. In having sex, whether it be in or out of wedlock, there are no forms of artificial contraception that can be considered morally acceptable.

As far as the Catholic Church is concerned, sex is for one purpose only: Procreation. If you dare to enjoy it, or indulge in it recreationally, you are "depraved" and "sinful". The fact that it is a pleasurable experience when done right is a bad thing...a "temptation of the flesh".

Somewhere along the line, some idiot decided that anything of the physical world was corrupt and evil. Physical=evil, spirit=good. An extremely black-and-white, polarized view of the world.

Given the recent scandals of the Church, perhaps they might want to ease up on some of their restrictions a little.

The Catholic Church, like its founder Jesus Christ, "prefers" people not to fornicate. If they are doing so, they are already on the road to hell, so whether or not they also use artificial birth control hardly matters.

The Church teaches that sexual union has two equal and inseparable purposes - the mutual pleasure and unity of the couple; and the procreation of children. Sexual union that is not open to both purposes is illicit.
