God allows all the pain and suffering and murder in the world because we need to be tested. In the spirit world where I believe we used to dwell, God asked us if we would like to have agency or the right to choose are to follow the devil's plan with no choice. About 2/3 of us decided to go to the Earth and get a flesh and blood body. The purpose was to become like him and to be tested to learn if we would follow him. The pain and suffering helps us choose. Through most of it would be unnecessary if man were not as prone to cause strife through a word or action. There is a God, he can allow the pain, suffering, and murder that happens in the world because we must be tested and found worthy to enter his kingdom. He is almighty and if we ask through prayer, I believe we can live even through there is pain, suffering, and murder.

That is a good question and the answer is complicated but basically, this is a fallen world we live in because of sin and rebellion and God loves us and cares for us even when we dont think so. We are refined by the fire we go through in our trials and if things were perfect, we wouldnt seek God. Christians in 3rd world countries as well as wealthy Christians in the world love God no matter their situation and know that this life is temporary. Here is an outline of why we suffer that I like:

He gave us all free will and that's where the pain, suffering, murder and all the bad in the world comes from.....it does not come from God...He gave us 'rules' to live by he didn't say that he would end all suffering.
Suffering also is what often makes us stronger....if we use it as a learning experience....Read the book of Job...that always lifts me up.
It always builds my Faith...but suffering can destroy us if we let it.

Because God sometimes hands people over to their sin if they keep on resisting His law. He gives them what they want, they just don't know all the hidden consequences. All the pain and suffering in the world today is because of the bad choices of man.

no offense, but I'm getting really tired of this question...
but if you must know, even God has laws to follow so He doesn't become a manipulator. If God wants to intervene with mankind, He has to do it through people, people without sin, as God and sin do not mix.
God wants suffering to stop, and He does all that He may. He has worked miracles, but I believe it's because people have unselfishly gotten rid of their sin and were united in prayer, allowing God access to our world.

The whole purpose of this life is to learn to make choices. Unfortunately, without the option of making bad choices, that learning process can't happen. And sometimes the choice is how we choose to deal with the "pain, suffering, and murder" that happens.
How d@mning would Hitler's choices be if he'd died at 16?... I suspect that God "gave him enough rope to hang himself..."
How great would we think Mother Teresa was if she hadn't been allowed to ever go to Calcutta? I suspect that God gave her enough rope, too.
Its all in how we choose to use the rope God gives us.

He screwed up and gave us free will. The anger that we have towards God is misplaced we should blame it on the individuals that are causing the pain and suffering. He allows it so that we are challenged on our faith towards him. How much would you believe in God or how much effort would you put if you knew already that you'd go to Heaven. There would be no point in anything if the world was pure and free of evil.

It is because of the Fall of Mankind. When our ancestors sinned, we fell under a curse. Both the earth and man.
Sin is an ever present part of our lives, and we must deal with the consequences. These consequences include the pain, suffering, and murder that happens in the world.
He allows it, because we chose it.

That suffering was brought about by the sin of men and is just reward for such, fortunately god is gracious and merciful and will forgive one's sins and allow them to be saved from condemnation.
