I'll go first. I do believe in souls (and that all things have souls) because I had an experience where I saw something "leave" a bird's body at its moment of death. The thing was a glowing white light that was semi-opaque, the bird was black, and it was completely dark outside. It was personal experience and my analyzation of that personal experience that led me to my belief.

Pray and adams rib, could you guys further explain WHY you believe what you believe? Or are your answers simply based on the bible and what you were taught to memorize?

yes - when i had to put my ferret down (after watching her suffer for ten hours through a very long night from a failing liver) - i took her to the vet, the vet gave her a shot and said that it would take about 60 seconds before she passed; when she did pass, i saw her spirit leave her little body, float upward, and disappear into the ceiling of the room - i felt peace after this, sadness too, but mostly peace
praystowardsfunkytwn is wrong, but you already know that ---- or maybe i dont uderstand what s/he is saying

I'm not sure if there is a difference in a soul and a spirit but I believe every living thing has one. The bible says a body without a spirit is dead.

Of course animals like humans have souls...... How do you think they were created, the souls? The souls of people and animals are God's thoughts, God breathes into his thoughts and humans and animals are born spirit... and when that person or animal dies that last breath goes back to God. The souls-spirits of people and animals go to where they have chose to go, usually it's heaven.

Not to be rude, but were you on a hallucinogen? Just curious.
I think animals have whatever people have, which isn't a soul. It's a complex brain. So if an animal is less complex...well, you get the idea.

No reason to believe in the existence of souls. Just part of more religious mythology.

I'm sorry, I've never had such an experience. I don't know what a soul is, really, everyone seems to have their own definition.

Animals don't have souls. They are filled with the spirit of God.
