Do any of you feel pressurised to keep your faith a secret? I have looked into some of the Neopagan beliefs and they make alot of sense to me but on here and in general people seem to dismiss it, i honestly dont know why (probably social conditioning) but id be intimadated by revealing my faith as a pagan - how do you feel about telling people?

For a split second I questioned all I believe in but then realized it was a test of faith and when I read the rubbish printed in the papers I knew I would never be let down by Him. How did you feel? Christians response only please.

the declaration by Constantine that christianity be the religion of the Roman Empire, subsequently banning Gnosticism, the burning of the library at Alexandria, thereby limiting the flow of any literature other than that of a christian slant, the thousands of deaths as a relult of the Crusades, the hideous torturings of the inquisition and witch hunts and the slaughtering of thousands of indigeonous souls around the world under the guise of Manifest Destiny is it any wonder that the entire ediface and intent of christianity warrants further investigation?

First of all, I consider myself to be a Christian (severely back-slidden) but I am working on it. Please remember, I am not trying to turn this into a political issue or athiest v. christian issue.

How come the supposed "Religious Right" tends to overlook the more important social issues such as Health Care, the Environment, starving children in the U.S. and New Orleans? Our current administration has done a wonderful job at ignoring these issues that are true indicators of morality and goodness. Yet in the same speech they imply they are responsible for restoring morality on the American homefront. Instead, we are trying to impose American ideas in parts of the world that don't even want us there. Do the fundamentalists think the world is going to end soon so we shouldn't worry about the environment, social security, health care or other post-rapture issues? What do you think?

I'm very close to God, but my sibilings arent. I have two sisters 17 and 20 and a brother whose a big frat partying boy and he's turning 20 in a few days. They were religious when they were 12 or so and I believe they are all saved my oldest sister calls herself a Christian and prays to him, but she doesn't exactly live as one. I know that I'm going to heaven, with my wonderful parents but how can it be Heaven with the ones I can't live without. I think about it a lot and I cry over it, how can I enjoy heaven without all of my family.

mark 6:8 These were his instructions: "Take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in your belts.

I'd like to first point out I am not asking this question of all atheists/non-believers. By and large you ask sincere, often thought provoking questions. I am addressing a minority of that group. There was, in fact, a terrific one posed yesterday that I really enjoyed thinking about and responding to.

I would sincerely like to know what those of you who come in here for the sole purpose of insulting people who have a different belief system from your own? You make the assumption that we are stupid & uneducated, incapable of thinking for ourselves. Denigrate the holy books (I'm not just speaking for Christians) If you are so sure in your belief in non-belief... If you are so sure that you're right and we're wrong, why not leave us in blissful ignorance. Why the taunting?

I apologize if I offend anyone. I don't mean to. This was prompted by a question I just read that was one of the most insulting and arrogant I've ever come across.

When people say "I'm sorry", that means that they did something wrong. I haven't done anything wrong. If I apologize, that would make me guilty by association like saying that "my people are the terrorists" but those are NOT my people. Those terrorists are ignorant and deserve the pain and suffering they will have in hell...Why then should I apologize for the sins that they have commited just because I am Muslim?

Doesn't Society have an irrational fear of words?
The forces in the Universe are not positive, or negative.
They are nuetral. They just exist.
However, there are "Zillions" of beings in Reality, with Free Will. And many "choose" to do wrong. These are the Powers of Darkness.

An interesting thing happened to me last night... While i was sleeping, someone felt the need to take a blade to the rag-top on my jeep. they cut it up and then left. nothing was stolen, just the top was damaged. at first i was furious, then my anger faded away as i knew that it would soon be fixed. now, i'm not even angry about it. part of me tells me that i should be angry and hateful of those that did it, but i just dont feel the need to experience hate because of it. it was a useless endevor to those that did it, and although it will cost me to get it fixed, i just cant be angry about it anymore. How do you deal with playing the role of 'victim'? Do you react, or respond to your situation?
