Are there explanations for the arguments against the Noah's ark and the Great Flood story? ((i.e. Where's all the water go? How did all the animals get to the ark and fit inside?))
..websites?..books?

Argument for Noah's Ark is that it is written that Noah obeyed & built an ark and God flooded the earth. And those in the ark of safety didn't die. And the animals God purposed in the ark were provided by God and were probably young & small.

It is written... is sufficient argument for the truth of the Noah's Ark history.

In Genesis 6, 7, 8, and 9 two Hebrew words, nephesh and basar, are used to describe the animals on board the ark. The word nephesh includes birds and mammals only. The word basar refers more specifically to those birds and mammals that contribute to man's livelihood. Further, the word for world refers to mankind and the area he occupied rather than the entire globe.

So, the number of animals on board the ark probably numbered in the hundreds, certainly no more than a few thousand. The ark, then, would have been adequate, and eight people could have cared for all the animals.

In Genesis, it says that 7 of every kind of clean animals, male and its mate, and 2 of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also 7 of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth were to go on the arc. Many people think that Noah went out to gather all these animals. He didn't. After Noah and his sons built the arc (it took 120 yrs), God sent the animals to the arc and Noah and his sons put them on the arc. God told Noah ow to built it and it was big enough to carry all the animals, Noah and his family and food for them and food for the animals. Seven days after all were on the arc, God closed the doors and it began to rain. It rained heavy nonstop for 40 days and 40 nights.

It wasn't the entire planet that flooded. It was the area from Turkey to Egypt that flooded. This was the only lands that had people living on it. So when the water receded, the arc was atop a mountain and the water created the lakes and rivers that are in that are today. Red Sea, Dead Sea, Mediteranean Sea, Sea of Galilee, Jordan River, etc.

Yeah, there are plenty of hack websites and pulp paperbacks full of nonsense babbled by lunatics to the general effect that "Noah's Ark" was possible.

No responsible historian or scientist in the world would come within ten thousand leagues of the idea, which isn't even original to the Hebrew tradition whence we derive our own fantasies. At best, it may be a sort of fabled remembrance of one or more devastating local floods. A global flood is impossible: to mention only one minor point, there simply isn't enough water in the world, by a LONG shot.

But if the jury consists of people simple enough to say "Jesus believed it happened. That's good enough for me," there's really no point in arguing either way.

I don't think any Christian should have the screen name "Wisdom," when they believe they should not ask questions for fear of finding out the truth. Wisdom means you must ask questions, not avoid them. There are NO arguments FOR Noah's Ark. It is a myth, just like every other flood story in the world. To believe otherwise is to believe in nonsense.

The simplest is no uniform layer that is world wide. Here is mine that I wrote a couple weeks ago:

There are three living species of elephants. There are six species identified total. Just the 6 elephants to cover the living ones and enough food would be problematic. They eat about 300 kg a day so you would need over 600,000 kg just to feed them for over 300 (it was really 372, but lets keep the math simple) days. The largest wooden ships built only displaced (fully loaded weight of entire ship) about 500 tons. You need more than 600 tons of food just for the elephants, and that doesn't count the weight of the elephants or ship.

Now throw in the three living species of Rhinos and you need six of them too, and the two Hippo species meaning you need four of them. Now just for fun let’s throw in the cats. There are 39 living species and a bunch more that are recently (500 years) extinct. And that is giving the benefit of the doubt on subspecies; but if you can't evolve you would have had too. They start with a lion and tiger and go down and you need two of each. These not only need food, it has to be meat. Now without refrigeration that means bringing a lot of goats and such just to feed them.

It isn't workable in any real world. We couldn't build a ship that would do this with our modern technology. Let alone try to build it out of wood.

By the way there are 900,000 known insects. We find about 2,000 new ones every year so that isn't a full list. This alone would be problematic.

bible clearly says....water came up from below and it rained. Rain came from the ice shield the earth use to have. water came up from the ground from reservoirs, ungrounded water tables, etc.

There were only about 8-10,000 kinds of animals at that time. And you would take baby's and youth so they eat less, take up less room and are stronger. Plus goal is to repopulate....hard to do with grandma and grandpa dinosaur.

Kent Hovind goes through the stuff pretty well, real layman's terms, no preaching. You can find his 7 part series on YouTube or Google or also on his site for free, www.DrDino.com.

they were stacked two by twosey, every animal on earth, from the polar bears, and kangaroo's, to the elepahnts, and dinosaurs. I think the easter bunny was there, and even the tooth fairy stopped by to check things out. then santa came by and things got totally out of control.
