When the people in India were finally freed from the British empire the fighting between the Hindus and Muslims started. Ghandi was deeply troubled by that and when asked which side he was on he said: I am Muslim, I am Christian, I am Hindu, I am Buddist.
See, it does not matter what you are, but it is how you live that matters in God's eyes. And fighting, going to war, judging another for their race, sexuality, religion, will not get you closer to God. People in my neighborhood are confused as of which denomination I belong to. Religion is very important to them. If I am ever asked again, I shall answer them as Ghandi did.
I know I put myself out there with these comments, but I would love to start a Peace movement, getting people involved, not in fighting for Peace, how is this possible, but talking about Peace, living Peace, practicing Peace, in our homes, schools, and working on our own Inner Peace. Let me know your thoughts on this please ( guess that was my true question :>)

If nothing else, to just respect the fact that the other has a different point of view and quit hounding one another over their beliefs. Is this too much to ask?

Read the Bible for yourself, the 144,000 are the witnesses to the people after the rapture not those in heaven. It has nothing to do with those who are going to heaven before the rapture. If you get saved, according to Acts chapters 2, and 10, and obey the Bible and do what Jesus tells you to, you will surely make it to heaven.

.....and you worshipped Him exactly how he would expect but there were just a couple of little things that nagged at you (say for example, you couldn't accept that a really nice friend died whilst you knew of a vile person who was fine) and you questioned God as to why He lets that happen would He hold that against you?

What if you could never reconcile those thoughts for the rest of your life even though in every other way you were a devout 'fill in your religion here.' Would God deny you passage into his Kingdom because you had a few problems with His management?

So I was reading that heathen inaccurate wikipedia on the virgin Mary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_Mary#Immaculate_Conception_of_Mary

does anybody else think that the people around her were maybe a bit gullible? I mean COME ON!

Additionally, this might offend but how the hell did they know it was truly immaculate? We're talking about people who thought the sun revolved around the earth. Were there a lot of gynecologists around in biblical times? Is there a verse describing it?

ps. please don't delete my account for this, I am truly curious.

It seems to me that Atheists have just as much faith as Christians, and other such religions that believe in God. They can't prove that God does not exist, and no one can prove he/she does. They have faith (or in other words believe) that God does not exist...The only "religion" that seems to be based on logic is Agnosticism. They believe there is nothing to either prove or disprove the existence of a God. So unless you're Agnostic you have the burden of prove, and have faith. right??? And why do Atheists take offense to this?

P.S. Not trying to rag on anybody, just trying to see from different view points. Please do not bring up the "you can not disprove an imaginary thing" defense. I would like to here some other "arguments". Thanks :)

These are obscure so I am putting them all here and if you can answer one please do.

1) I a myth about a creature that lives in above ground crypts similar to stupas. It looks like a corpse and wears clay armor. It waits for thieves to try to steal from it so it can feed, or to put on its armor and take its place. What is this creature called or where can I learn more about it.

2) Anyone know anything about a gold amulet that looks like the sun with little triangular rays comming off of it?

3) Legends about evil sadistic entities that keep thier word but always try to phrase things so they are not really bound. I have heard of raksasas, politicans, and attorneys :-) Any other names or know where I can learn about them?

4) I once saw a document that discused animal sacrifice, which I do not approve of. The document listed many animals and the relative energy/value of that animal as a sacrifice. Does anyone know about this?

As proposed by The Dude:

(1) Every time a Christian earnestly asks about Pascal's Wager WITHOUT KNOWING that it's called Pascal's Wager, take pony shot. (A small one.)

(2) Every time a fundie actually knows ahead of time what Pascal's Wager is, take a full shot.

(3) Every time someone asks what's wrong with Pascal's wager, take a swig of beer.

(4) Have a glass of champagne if they actually understand.

Additional Details

And for the non-drinkers, they have to eat. Something like chocolate, potato chips, or if you absolutely have to, 1 tablespoon of butter :)

I wonder if the person who thought it up had any notion that he was creating the most powerful word in the universe ever. It must have been invented right along the time language itself was invented. Shortly after we came down out of the trees. My God if people had know at the time what the inventor of words had created and was bringing upon this world they would probably have stoned him to death right there.
