When the people in India were finally freed from the British empire the fighting between the Hindus and Muslims started. Ghandi was deeply troubled by that and when asked which side he was on he said: I am Muslim, I am Christian, I am Hindu, I am Buddist.
See, it does not matter what you are, but it is how you live that matters in God's eyes. And fighting, going to war, judging another for their race, sexuality, religion, will not get you closer to God. People in my neighborhood are confused as of which denomination I belong to. Religion is very important to them. If I am ever asked again, I shall answer them as Ghandi did.
I know I put myself out there with these comments, but I would love to start a Peace movement, getting people involved, not in fighting for Peace, how is this possible, but talking about Peace, living Peace, practicing Peace, in our homes, schools, and working on our own Inner Peace. Let me know your thoughts on this please ( guess that was my true question :>)

I met Arun Ghandi's grandson when he lectured at my college. I also had the priviledge of interviewing him for our school paper. He was inspiring. He started a group...I THINK (i;'m not sure) that it's still there. It's called the Ghandi institute for world peace in Dallas. I think you can research that for a start.

Your religious beliefs sound like you'd make an excellent Unitarian...and they are very involved in the political movements you are talking about.

Good luck.

It all sounds good but it won't work.
Satan is alive and well. His goal is to twist the truth. He is a liar and father of all lies. He wants us fighting, disagreeing with each other, killing over anything including religion.

He also wants Israel gone. It has been prophesied that Israel will be a complete nation when Jesus comes again. So if it is dissolved Satan has more time left. He knows his time is limited. He knows. But he's going out kicking and screaming and taking as many souls with him as he can. Just to hurt God.

Jesus taught us to love others as we do ourselves. If we all practiced this the world would be at peace.

When asked what he thought of Christians, Ghandi said "Don't know. Never met one."

When asked what he thought of western civilization, he said "I think it'd be a very good idea."

Recently, this sequel to a Bollywood movie based on Gandhism was a surprise hit. Apparently, many people, even some politicians, were so moved after seeing this movie, that they started practicing the methods shown in the movie.

Sometimes when people say that you have to do things a certain way to avoid sin, they don't realize that not doing something that is possible but evil is a positive virtue also.
I believe that this is the wisdom of Gandhi.

If you are going to begin quoting Gandhi, you should probably first learn how to correctly spell his name.

And yes -- I believe as Gandhi did. God is too big to be contained in one religion.

I believe when Ghandi said:

"I like your Christ, I just don't like your Christians. Your Christians are not too much like your Christ."
