.....and you worshipped Him exactly how he would expect but there were just a couple of little things that nagged at you (say for example, you couldn't accept that a really nice friend died whilst you knew of a vile person who was fine) and you questioned God as to why He lets that happen would He hold that against you?

What if you could never reconcile those thoughts for the rest of your life even though in every other way you were a devout 'fill in your religion here.' Would God deny you passage into his Kingdom because you had a few problems with His management?

redglory: Everything I ask is hypothetical. But I do appreciate your kind sentiment.

Amalthea: to partially quote you: 'He requires only that we submit to His will, not that we always like it or understand it'.

This highlights one of my biggest problems with religion. On the one hand we are suppose to have the free will to either follow God or not based on our own judgements. But, on the other hand, we're supposed to blindly follow him even if we don't always understand Him. It makes no sense to me.

Hi Cup...would it surprise you to know that most of us have these spiritual battles to deal with. God has heard me cuss him, scream at him, cry, beg, whatever...and you know what...HE still loves me just as much. As I have matured my prayers to God are much more like a conversation (hey better than talking to yourself, lol). I do finally understand that, I do not get to make the rules for God and that I am not going to get whatever I want just because I beg for it. I have to accept the answer God gives me.

I have also come to understand (listening to Larry King Live of all things) that God does not see death as we do. We think how horrible to lose someone we love or a dear friend...but to God, its one of his children coming home...its a celebration. I may never fully come to terms with that...but it has helped me in times of grief.

Our spiritual selves, our "God" in us or Holy Spirit, grows and matures just as we do and though when I was 25 I would have never believed it...God really does help us to understand things along the way.

Maybe he will have a special place for people like us who struggled with "managements" decisions. I always say...God, I am bringing a list of questions, so be sure and set aside some time for me.

Hugs to you
xs

Ok, not a christian but I have made some observations.

As a christian, you should believe that god gave you free will. That would be free will to disagree with some things that happen as long as you do not commit blasphemy and things like that.

Also, as a christian, you should believe that god has a plan and that you do not know that plan. In the end, all would be revealed and somethings that do not make sense would make sense. Until then, you are going to have questions.

I think that if you practice your faith appropriately then you should not have any fear of god condemning you for questioning how the world is managed. Just be a good person and do good things. That would be my advice.

God lets nature take its course. Some things we will not understand until we see him. Job questioned God why he (Job) suffered alongside evildoers when he had done no harm The moral was that in this world the good and the bad grow side by side and both can suffer equally. But God is there to help or answer our prayers. He will not deny you anything, we are not God so therefore cannot understand many things.

You need to give this one up to God. Do you remember the story of Job. He had everything taken from him, and yet he would not curse God or blame him. And God blessed him greatly for this. When you suffer the Lord suffers with you. He lets us live our lives, and life just happens. Good people die all the time, while bad people keep on living. This is life. If you are a believer then you know the power of prayer. Ask God to take this burden from you, and tell satan to get behind you and out of your thoughts.

If you have ever read the Psalms, you know that a good many of them come off as complaints. Some of them were written in times of great strife, by people who cried aloud for the same kinds of answers you speak of. No, God doesn't explain everything to us, but neither does He require we be like that "Twilight Zone" episode where everyone had to think GOOD thoughts. He's big enough to take a little questioning, and He knows we aren't always going to be happy with His judgments. He requires only that we submit to His will, not that we always like it or understand it.

*Yes, we have free will. Submitting to Him or not is our choice. He doesn't force it. But can you be a Christian while deliberately living outside the will of God? Not very likely.*

you know something.....god actually invites us to talk to him about how we feel. In my church we believe we can be honest with god and REAL! Whats the point in pretending everthing is great when its not. There have been many occasions when I have wanted not to be a Christian because it can be bloody hard! But I am and there is nothing I can do about it. Its inevitable that there will be things that he allows that we find ourselves thinking WHY??? You just have to somehow come to realise that he is God and he knows what is best for us, sometimes things seem very black and white to us but he sees a fuller picture than us. As for will he allow you into his kingdom OF COURSE HE WILL! When you give you life to him you are saved end of story. I don't believe you can lose that salvation. Maybe if you ask god to help you reconcile your feelings of loss he will help you, but it would take time. There are christian councelling centres if you think that would help. I pray that he will reveal himself to you in a new and awesome way!

Life is never fair and we all lose friends and family before 'their time'. Anyone who is not tested by their own Faith isn't human. But what if - what if we try to expand our horizons by personal trajedy. We often seem consumed - quite rightly - by impact on our own world. To believe and love God we must surely embrace all of humanity. It's never an easy thing - but without this, what hope is there for anybody? God bless and good luck - and sorry to hear your sorrow. -

If u do your best to worship God then Im sure you'll have the opportunity to ask God yourself.........until then God knows whats best for us regardless of what we may think but then again, its your free will.........just know God would never want u to suffer so maybe some earnest prayer to him might help u through your burden even if for now he doesnt remove it.hope this helps

Oh for pete's sake grow up!

There is no god in the same way there is no tooth fairy.

It was just a construction of primitive man who devised 'god' to explain what he could not understand.

Try reading Richard Dawkins' excellent book, The God Delusion. It will help to educate your mind!

The thing to do is not question God but question how or why. It's only natural to have a question about something you don't understand, but you don't question God's motive or reasoning. He knows what He's doing and it is holy.
