I am a Christian, who I guess you can say has a problem with alcohol, so it is wrong for me to go into a bar, cuz I know where it leads, I don't think God would condone being around it, but that is something you would have to personally ask God in your relationship with him, let me ask you this, do you go to church? If you do would you come right out and tell the Church members this, why or why not?

You aren't. Jesus made wine at a wedding didn't he?
It might be best to keep drinking to moderation, as Paul advises against excessive drinking. It diminishes people's judgement, and then they sometimes do things that DO make them a hypocrite. That's the norm anyways, and that's why people may call you a "hypocrite"...because they are making certain assumptions about how much you may imbibe and how you may act. I think in general, the more people drink, they more they are able to succumb to temptations to act irresponsibly. This doesn't have to be the case though.
I think moderation is the key. I'm sure it's possible for some people to actually become BETTER christians after having a couple beers. It definately makes me more generous and jovial.
It's your actions that matter...not where you go or who you are with. Jesus himself ate and drank with prostitutes. Just be on your guard, and be mindful of your words and actions. That's what counts.

Lol..... this is a funny question, only cause I have asked myself the same type of thing. The way this would be a sin or being a hypocrite is that your body ( being a Christian ) is Gods temple....... Soooooo doing anything to it that isnt good, ie: smoking, drinking, drugs and on and on would be a sin.... But we as Christians know that it is impossible to be perfect so we kinda justify things because we know that we will sin at sometime. Does going to the bar count as more of a sin then someone who smokes ? Not if you read the bible.....

That's absurd. So the answer is no. Nothing in the Bible says that simply walking into a bar makes you a hypocrite or sinner. Now if you go in there and break one (or more) of the Ten Commandments, then you're a sinner/hypocrite. But you can break those any where.

Hypocrite --who knows? a Christian may well stay clear of bars because:
1.others are using you as an example, although you may just drink
one, you'll have drank according to the reputation of the bar.
2.in a bar setting there's more temptation to abuse the spirits (no
pun intended) and overindulge
3. most bars have unchristian activities taking place for your "enjoyment"
or viewing pleasure.
4. most bars are smoke filled and unhealthy for your lungs
That being said, is it a "sin" to go into a bar and/or have a cool one ?
personally, I don't think so -- but there are much better places to be

Not hardly, Contrary to what some so-callled "pastors" claim, the Bible does nt prohibit consumption of alcohol. quite the opposite--read the story of the marriage at Cana.
These same false teachers also claim that the "wine" Christ made there wasn't really wine--just grape juice. Yet these same preachers claim to take the Bible literally. But that's not what the Bible says--they can't have itboth ways.
The Bible--Old and New Testament--is very clear about wine--or anything else--being taken in moderation. Drunkeness is not okay.

No. Why would you be? There is nothing that says you cannot go to a bar in any form of legitimate Christian belief that I know of and the only reference the Bible makes is not to "overdo" consumption. Go out to the bar tonight...have fun.
PS...Had a pastor once that said that is where he converted most people, ROTFLMBO

OMG! Is there an 11th Commandment I missed ?!
Going to a bar does not make you a hypocrite.
What you do in the bar MIGHT make you a hypocrite, in which case it may be unwise to go there in the first place.

Nothing about being a Christian says you can't go to a bar. And, guess what! You can even have a few drinks while you're there.

No! Absolutely not. Jesus our Lord and Savior went to such places in Jerusalem,(remember the story of Matthew the tax collector) in order to heal and save their lost souls.
If you are a Christian, then what would make you a hypocrite is if you denied Jesus,(put he in a proverbial box) while you were in the bar, and not share your testimony of His love and how you came to know Him! And while you were there, backslide and let strong drink make a mockery of your precious witness! God bless you . . .PTL
Now in the spirit and power of His love, go get those sinners for Jesus!
