Some atheists believe in more than one God. Some atheists don't believe in the Christian God. Some are good people like the Buddhists but believe we're just 'here'. Some are obssessed with science. Some would rather just be 6-feet under and be more than happy to sleep the rest of eternity, what's wrong with that? I'm not an atheist personally, but atheists are not bad people...most are pretty decent people AND they're not pushing religion on me!!!!!

I've seen questions addressed to "atheists and nonbelievers" and I'd like to know what the difference is. Aren't they the same thing?

honest answers only, please.

when i met my fiance two years ago, he claimed to be a christian. over these two years, i just found out, he's lost his faith and now considers himself agnostic - he believes in A deity, but not necessarily a certain one. he just believes there's something out there.

i am hurt by this. my faith and beliefs are very important to me, and i would like some advice. do i leave him alone about this? i don't want to 'preach' to him and irritate him. should i try and take him with me to church? i want to share this with him, since it is a big factor in my life, and hopefuly help him regain his faith.

Serious answers from all faiths are welcomed. thanks.

Preachers, Pastors and Priests will quote Mark16:16 without hesitation, but it is always followed by long winded rhetoric and "and now if you'll turn with me to...."

In Mark 16:17-18 Jesus states, "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

I have yet to meet any Christians willing to test any of this out, aside from Appalachian snake handlers. Especially the part about being impervious to poisons.

Don't bother answering "You shall not test the Lord thy God." This is God testing you. Your God himself laid out the parameters to determine who is actually a Christian and who is not.

Personally I think all of you are fake Christians.

Anyone care to prove me wrong?

As I must face the final curtain one day(who said sooner rather than later)I find myself asking this important question.Which religion is best? For being forgiving and understanding of everyone, one that lets, everyone have there own ideas and views would be nice.If you don't have a god then go and answer a diffrent question. Spirits? What is your reasoning for believing in these things vs God? Just curious.

I think that the majority of common religions in today's world are all in fact praying to the same god. They just have different interpretations of how that god wants them to behave. Guess who made up those interpretations, man. So aren't people just following the principles of man and not a god? In precipitation of your comment that the men who created these principles were godly men and thus the principles are coming from god indirectly, it is still not a direct source. Peoples' whole religion would thus be based on whether or not these people were being completely truthful when saying that god spoke to them.

Almost in every dream, the places that I have been very familiar with connect together and form a bigger dream. It just keeps adding up. What does this mean?

Why serve a vile ogre like god? It defeats human dignity to get down and worship a disgusting, sadistic, jealous monster like the one portrayed in the bible. We're superior morally and intellectually.

Haven't we outgrown a need for God? Why can't he be placed in the toybox to be covered in dust as mankind comes of age.

Its time we took responsibility for ourselves.

In his "moderate'' Mosque, they show the congregants 'Jerry Springer' shows and others like that .They say all Americans are like that, that's why they need to be converted to Islam. If that's what they do in "moderate "Mosques what do they teach in the "fanatical" ones?.By the way ,it took me a year to convince him I didn't drink, cheat on my wife or do drugs. That's the truth. It is pounded into their heads. He wants me to find him a Bible printed in Arabic, they won't trust anything else. And he is a good dude too.
