Why serve a vile ogre like god? It defeats human dignity to get down and worship a disgusting, sadistic, jealous monster like the one portrayed in the bible. We're superior morally and intellectually.

Haven't we outgrown a need for God? Why can't he be placed in the toybox to be covered in dust as mankind comes of age.

Its time we took responsibility for ourselves.

sevility???

okay to answer your questions...

Why serve a vile ogre like god? It defeats human dignity to get down and worship a disgusting, sadistic, jealous monster like the one portrayed in the bible. We're superior morally and intellectually.

>yes, human are indeed superior,,, to all lower lifeforms... such as other mammals, fish, birds, insects & what have yous... theist are people who "believe" that there is "someone"/"something" (out there) higher than themselves... (so that would make that person/thing superior to them)

Haven't we outgrown a need for God? Why can't he be placed in the toybox to be covered in dust as mankind comes of age.

>yes in our generation, a lot of humans have indeed outgrown a need for God... but this is not anything new...in fact people from every generations past have had the same thing happen to them... & outgrew the need for God, each though for their own reasons

Its time we took responsibility for ourselves.

>thats correct!
(& that coming from someone named leviathan)

You sound like Lucifer who too thought he was superior and obviously no longer had a desire to worship the SUPERIOR ONE AND ONLY GOD, but oh, where is he now?? YES, he's a fallen angel = demon = satan, who IS successfully twisting your God-created mind and heart!! You've obviously placed God in a toybox as you are TOYING with your eternal destiny!! Go ahead and continue to puff youself up during the time God contiues to give you breath, but expect the same consequences that Sovereign, Powerful and Superior God gave to Lucifer/Satan --ultimate doom in the Lake of eternal Fire in the end. Will this be the end of your superior, puffed up story?? Or will you change your ending by praying for faith and acceptance of Jesus who died and suffered for you so that you may have eternal life with Him? Remember, no matter what you believe, DOES NOT change God's Plan.

I thought you were somewhat smarter than some of the others here......but now you think God is the vile, jealous, ogre...when it was Man that spread the Word of God...yeah, the superior one.....morally and intellectually? Right....the powerful corrupters (rich and royals) the Translators of the Bible, the first ones....they were evil, jealous, rich, arrogant bastards who put their own beliefs into God and this Created God is the one that 'we the people' have been practicing, preaching, and following ever since...it's all bullshit....God is Love ...why the hell would you put that on a shelf? are u a freaking axemurderer?

Psalm 100:3
"God made us not we ourselves." That's what I believe about creation.
I believe a lot of the misunderstanding about the God of the Bible is cultural. In the cultural context of the time, killing was wrong, yes, but it was necessary for God to establish his authority over the nation of Israel. He had to destroy the surrounding pagan nations to prevent idol worship. God is not a man, he is a spirit, and he should not be analyzed as anything like a human should. He is different than us and better.
Yes, you can go your whole like without acknowledging God, but that doesn't mean He isn't there.

In a way your statement is coming to fruition. Religion and attendance among todays youth has decreased significantly in Western countries. I am unsure about other countries but I would assume the same occurance is happening there. A good thing in my opinion.

....sevility?
Do you mean "civility" or "servility"?
I'm a theist, but I don't worship or believe in the "disgusting, sadistic, jealous monster" portrayed in the bible. I'm not particularly civil, and far from servile.

Let's make a new God in our image, since our image has improved considerably since they made the first one.

What's "sevility?" Has it got something to do with living in some city in Spain?

I'm sure you don't mean "civility."

If I wish to worship God why is that a problem to you?

I agree, it's time. It disappoints me that so many people wouldn't know what to do with themselves if they didn't feel it necessary to fall in line with the will of "God".
