how do I vote on the best answer and how do I make the thumbs up or down sign pick the best answer?

You have to accumulate more than 250 points. You will then be promoted to Level 2. You can only rate an answer once you have progressed to Level 2.

Voting only happens on unresolved questions. I see that your answers have been chosen as the "Best Answer" a few times. This generally happens when the asker chooses your answer as the best. If the asker doesn't choose a best answer, the issue is resolved by allowing other YA members to vote.

Once you have signed in, and picked a category, you will see three green tabs marked "Answer", "Discover" and "Vote". You can obviously vote for any answers posted in this section, which is referred to as the "Unresolved" section.

You cannot force extra points for yourself by voting on an open question. If you happen to have provided an answer to a question that has not been resolved, you will not be able to vote for yourself. You will also not be able to give yourself a "thumbs-up" rating after answering a question.

Well, since you're in the Religion and Spirituality section I would suggest you pray to God to give you wisdom on which answer to vote for and then click the blue "vote as best answer" button.

Click on the Vote button of the answer you like best.

You can't make the sign pick the best answer.
